The award was for Best New Artist. The keyword being “Best” Not the artist with the most album sales, but the BEST new artist. Soulja Boy fails to see this somehow.

Soulja Boy had one big song, the Dream’s first 3 singles are hot and they did well on the radio. People are definitely feelin Dream more.
Soulja boy is all about entertainment and cartoon The dream is all about skill and creativity. Fans pay more attention to R&B then rap music being that R&B is the new rap. And not only that The dream first single falsetto is way more powerful then any soulja boy song that he’s ever brought out.

You can’t count other artists tracks when you talk about an award for best new artist. There are plenty of writers out there who wrote more hits then the dream did and yet they won’t be nominated for best new artists because other niggas hits don’t count unless you’re actually featured on it as opposed to just writing it.
Anyway, I agree that the dream deserved that award. All of soulja boy’s shit is based off of one song. If he was really the best artist then he would have more then one song to show for it. The dream has shorty is a 10, falsetto, and I love your girl which are all hits. 3 hits>>>> 1. And lets not forget that The dream dropped a dope album while soulja boy just dropped an album.
