this dude is a real G. Being a DJ, I tell people all the time…don’t try to get into the biz for the money…do it for the love of the craft…and when u do that..TRUST me..the money will come..and people are just all about getting that quick buck. We have seen a big decline hip hop business moves over the past couple of years and thats because there isnt a real love for the culture from the rappers…

it all goes hand in hand…you have love for what u do…you put your all into it. You put ur all into it…u put out quality shit…u put out quality shit…people will buy it…people start buying ur shit…$$CHING CHING$$…business moves start to come in…

I was always told that if u want long term success…mirror the ones who did it before u. imagine some little know-it-all computer geek going up to Bill Gates disrepecting him, calling him an old head and shit like that..these lil niggas need to start listening to the “old heads” because you can learn a thing or two about how to SURVIVE the business!

Rick Ross denies being a former rent-a-cop:

Recently, photos surfaced on the Net that depicted what appeared to be rapper Rick Ross wearing a correctional officer’s uniform. Now the Miami-based artist is speaking out against what he claims is the work of industry haters.

“My life is 100% real. These online hackers putting a picture of my face when I was a teenager in high school on other peoples’ body.,” Ross said in a statment to AllHipHop. “If this s**t was real don’t you think they would have more specifics, like dates and everything?”

“I’m in the entertainment business and a lot of people who like to hate because I’m on top of my game,” he said. “Like I said before my life is 100% real. I live by this die by this. Fake pictures are created by the fake, meant to entertain the fake.”

Here’s some real talk: a lot of these ringtone rappers will be broke in 5 years. Meanwhile the real talent will still be getting show money, etc.

To me it seems like “overexposure” has taken hip hop to the next level..

Now the problem is that all these new jack’s are NOT real Emcees, nor real DJ’s!
and that’s got nothing to do with the styles, skill or the rappers current location: east / west / north / south.

If the music has no cultural value, then it ain’t hip hop..

you were on point crush.

the rap game is a complete gimmick. but the deal is you can always find good “hip hop” music. simple, only by stuff prior to 1999.

Well stated Crush… shawn t you sound lazy! There’s plenty good music out there its jus not delivered via the radio no more so you gotta find it yourself… if its that important to you you’ll find a way to find enough like I did.

hint… college/non profit radio stations!
