Floyd Mayweather Announces His Retirement
Unbeaten welterweight Floyd Mayweather Jr. announced his retirement again Friday, with boxing’s unofficial pound-for-pound king saying he no longer has the passion necessary to fight.
This decision was not an easy one for me to make, as boxing is all I have done since I was a child,” said Mayweather, the son and nephew of three of the sport’s top trainers. “However, these past few years have been extremely difficult for me to find the desire and joy to continue in the sport.”
“I loved competing and winning and also wanted to continue my career for the fans, knowing they were there for me and enjoyed watching me fight,” Mayweather said. “However, after many sleepless nights and intense soul-searching, I realized I could no longer base my decision on anything but my own personal happiness, which I no longer could find.”
You can check out a highlight reel of Mayweather below.

Damn it Floyd, I was waiting for you and Cotto to fight!! It would have been a good for the sport and for Cotto. He’s too good not to be getting paid like he should be.

Damn. I feel him tho. If he continued to fight without passion, he’d end up on the canvas like good ole boy Roy.
Good decision, tho rather see him fight more (at least
gimmie a Cotto showdown, then bounce)

Naw on the real, bigs up to floyd money mayweather. I think he tellin the truth this time. I don’t think he’s fully retired but I think he’s definitely gonna take a long break. He’s gonna be busy expanding his empire. He done did WWE wrestlemania, and he probably got some other shit going on.
Plus he’s going out on top and UNDEFEATED!!

Wow I love how niggas always claim to be the best and as soon as competition makes noise Miguel Cotto would murder Floyd Mayweather. Floys record 39Ws 25 KOs Miguel 32Ws 26KOs both undefeated in the same weight class so why isint this dude fighting the #1 contender cuz he’s a bitch and should shoot himself for saying he’s the best and comparing himself to Ray Robinson or the Great Ali.

Cosign #10. Mayweather Jr. is a scared little bitch. And Im sure I’ll get knocked out if I did, but I have the balls to say that to his face. Floyd is duckin Miguel Cotto.

@realla_killah
LMAO Manny isn’t even in the same weightclass. He’s too small.
Anyway No matter who Floyd beats there will always be fans who says he’s ducking someone. That’s what happens to everyone who’s at the top. People said he couldn’t beat Diego Corrales (RIP) back when Diego was at his best. Floyd beat his ass. Castillo would be too tough. Floyd beat him twice. Oscar was too big and strong. Floyd beat him. Hatton’s pressure would be too much for Floyd. Floyd knocked him out..etc Floyd’s been a pro since 1996. Has fought many world champions is still undefeated and been a world champion in 4 diffrent weightclasses. He doesn’t have to prove anything more cause his recod speaks for itself.
If Floyd would fight Cotto and beat him, then fans would say. Who cares I knew he was going to beat him anyway. Cotto’s defense isn’t all that and he’s not as fast as Floyd. He needs to fight someone bigger and stronger like Margarito and after that fight fans would say. Who cares I knew Floyd would win Margarito is too flatfooted and slow. Floyd is ducking Paul Williams he’s scared and bla bla bla bla.
If Cotto managed to become THE MAN of boxing then fans are going to accuse him of ducking fighters too. It’s the negative part of the game. Fans are never satisfied.

@2cents
Chad is amazing but I’m worried about his chin though. Yuriorkis Gamboa from Cuba is the future in the lighter divisions. I’m also exited about David Haye from England in the heavyweight division. I think he’s exactly what the HW division needs. A fast big punching aggressive charismatic guy.

Floyd is scared of Cotto, Floyd got out when he could without any defeats If he fought Cotto Floyd would only win on point and wouldn’t knock him. Floyd also get big cash from WWE but he ducked fighting Cotto.

this nigga is scare of cotto, he know he’ll lose so that’s something this nigga would not be able to deal with so thats why he’s retiring with out any defeat
