Lil Wayne’s ,"Tha Carter III" Sells A Milli Records In The 1st Week

The album lived up the hype in terms of sales, almost a milli…

Lil Wayne now has official numbers to back up his bragging — the rapper’s new CD has sold a spectacular 1 million copies its first week.

“Tha Carter III” is easily the best selling first week of the year, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures. Even Kanye West’s “The Graduation” didn’t eclipse that mark in its first week last year (though it was only about 50,000 copies short).

    seeing that the album had 2-4 flop songs.. this is a major success…

    everybody heard lollipop, milli… 15 tracks left.. 2-4 whack and the album did 969,000… CRAZY numbers!

    I bet Kanye’s glad he didn’t beat him because that’s all niggas were talking about. I’m proud of Wayne, though. Good look for him. Glad to see hip hop fans still buy albums.
