Lil Wayne’s ,"Tha Carter III" Sells A Milli Records In The 1st Week
The album lived up the hype in terms of sales, almost a milli…
Lil Wayne now has official numbers to back up his bragging — the rapper’s new CD has sold a spectacular 1 million copies its first week.
“Tha Carter III” is easily the best selling first week of the year, according to Nielsen SoundScan figures. Even Kanye West’s “The Graduation” didn’t eclipse that mark in its first week last year (though it was only about 50,000 copies short).

By the way, I’m surprised Weezy almost did a milli. I think he’s talented and arguably one of the best rappers out there but Carter III was trash for the most part. Only a handful of tracks are worth listening to.

It’s a pretty good album but it’s way too soon to say it’s a classic. Only time will tell if this is a classic album or not. It’s like listen to a song on the radio and say it’s a timeless song. It’s impossible to know that. It takes time to be classic or timeless song/album.
