Soulja Boy is lame and overrated. bottom line. Maybe if I haven't been exposed to quality music already I'd be a fan. All of his songs sound the same and he's repetitive. He needs to find another oral activity and "eat a dick".

To Ladii Mississippi.....He was not born there, he moved there. He was born in Chi Town.

Born DeAndre Ramone Way in Chicago, Illinois on July 28, 1990, Way moved from Chicago to Atlanta, Georgia at age seven where he became interested in rap music. At age 14, he moved to Batesville, Mississippi with his father, who provided a recording studio for Way to explore his musical ambitions.

Prior to this I really was not a fan of the ‘Boy named SoulJa’ After today that has changed. He brings a valid point to light, and there’s nothing childish about his response to Ice T. Controversy , now a days creates more revenue to all forms of media than most people know, and it also hurts a culture in ways very few can count. Let’s be real, those who came before did pave the ways and set the tone, that many of inspiring artist aspire to live up to, and even go beyond. Very few people educate and model for young black men and so they are left with whatever they can find which usually is on TV, radio, and billboards. And the options are slim, not a lot of our people think getting a a degree is “cool” vs. a record deal, and the justification is clear. As Soulja, puts it, people are trying to survive. Say what you will but he is doing, or has done, what a man should do when your family, community and so forth is in need, provide. Judge the act, but understand the person, in context ( I mean where they come from) Hip-Hop has help a lot of individuals break into mainstream and “more acceptable” popular culture. NOT GOING BACK, and LOOKING DOWN ON OTHERS is the problem, just think if Ice-T made it a point to work with this young man and get him a spot on Law and Order, pushed for episodes that focused on the solution of those in the ‘ghetto’ (as Soulja puts it) maybe this would be the beginning of a new and better trend for the community. Its funny, how there’s no other culture to blame, people take pride in putting their own culture, and people down. Needless, to say it is a shame. Yeah, I was never a fan of SoulJa boy, but there’s nothing childish about his response to an adult who should know better, but is to far up to really perceive the bigger picture.
