The number one consumer of hip hop music is white people. They also buy a lot of the clothing associated with the culture/music. As hard as it is to be black, its very ironic how many people realize its cool to “dress black”, and do shit that black people do on a regular basis. The races that bite black styles think its cool but dont have to deal with the other side of the coin when your stopped by cops for wearing that fitted or bitches hold their purse when you walk by. White people look at their kids like they are goign through a faze when they listen to hip hop and start dressing “like black people”. Fact is niggas need to stop blaming hip hop for everything.

Historically our (colored) music has had some sort of meaning (Spirituals, etc) I’m black and I’m proud, A change gon come, The message, etc are fairly recent versions of music with a purpose and the purpose was to make us feel good about being us! When todays music basically makes fun of us (as a total we are not rich, can’t afford to make its rain or burn money, etc) So in general this could be his point but in most folks lack of emotional intelligence they are upset once they hear anything about hip hop and recklessly defend the super idiotic parts of hip hop!
