Ahijah… You mean Da franchise Boys I believe. And I don’t understand what was so bad about them…(they weren’t super killa hustla niggas from what I heard) I mean if any music sucks that bad though people shouldn’t be boppin to it as hard as they do or imitating the dances made famous by these songs…

So JD is wrong for givin these guys a chance to be successful? Sounds like he did what the DJ’s use to… How often do you hear a unknown banger in the club thats not from an industry head? Can you walk up to the DJ in the club, hand him a CD, and expect (even minutely) to hear it being played before you leave?

I feel what he saying and hes right, i wouldnt say the DJ dead tho. Its only a few DJ that matter and thats in major cities on popular radio stations. Other DJ’s tryin to get money making mixtapes, tryin to be Drama or Khaled ect. He should have actually tied this into his last shit talkin about Money fucked up the Game. Bring it full circle.

I somewhat agree with what he said but disagree with his overall conclusion. I will just say that the role of the DJ has changed in that DJ’s are doing more things. I still think its the DJ who is important in getting new artists put on, but its just that they want to be put on too. Or, they want to get paid for putting you on. Like he said with Mr. Magic, if he played your joint on 107.5 WBLS that was a great help in putting a rapper out there. But I guess DJ’s felt that they were doing a lot but getting little in return. Like other aspects of hip hop, money has had an effect on the DJ’s role over the years.

THE TRUTH HURTS and most of ya’ll young cats don’t know what a real DJ is… Back in the day if the DJ played your ish at a party or club and it was exclusive and the crowd loved it, you was on. If it wasn’t for the DJ cosigning for your favorite rappers they wouldn’t be where they are now… When cats speak they mind on a topic and others don’t agree it’s called hating, come on people it’s called an opinion and everybody has one but in this case it’s called the truth.

That’s why alot of shit ain’t gettin put on cause even the DJ’s is even being selfish with they hustle. excuse me I mean it is a hustle. see man DJ Clue did that shit best. got his money through the mixtapes but still added on to the artform or the swag of the DJ. he does the exclusive shit with no blends. nowadays people still add on the swag but it’s too much hustle involved that everybody too selfish now to see the bigger picture.
