@#15 hip hop is a culture. when someone talks abt hip hop’s non-lyrical form it includes beats, breaking/ dance, attire, etc… but the rapping (the LYRICAL portion) still requires skill. i’m tired of calling SB out but he’s strictly entertainment and hasn’t backed it up lyrically… sorta like WWE not really being wrestling, it’s all marketed. and that’s great, SB should make money. at least he aint out robbing folks or selling drugs.

No one said it has to be “educational, revolutionary and uplifting all the time” but it does have to have an amount of skill. Now if he just wanted to make a dance track then don’t call yourself a rapper. if you wanna claim something like HIP HOP when u say you’re a rapper then be HIP HOP and step up you’re lyrical game. Co-sign #30, rap has evolved to lyrical quality so don’t step backwards.

I’m pissed at myself for that.. kinda too long on SB when I wanted to praise TI. He has such lyrical skill and spits abt different topics with ease, you can party w/ him, go to sure, and get street all on the same album… can’t wait for PAPER TRAIL and Nas’s UNTITLED (though we all know the real title)… some HIP HOP to look forward to in ‘08. all that and maybe a BLACK PRESIDENT.. =)
