Summer Jam Videos Of Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Etc..
RealTalkNY was in the building for the annual Hot 97 Summer Jam last night. This year’s lineup included Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, The Dream, D-Block, & Public Enemy. Rihanna was suppose to be there but ended up doing the MTV Movie Awards instead. Unfortunately I was still getting my tickets during The Dream’s performance, but I saw the rest of the show.

When I finally landed to my seats Alicia Keys was surprisingly already performing. That caught me off guard since it was like 6 something. Alicia first surprise guest was Maino who of course performed, “Hi Hater.” Alicia then brought out Raekwon, Method Man & Ghostface to do clips of, “C.R.E.A.M., ” Ice Cream,” & “M.E.T.H.O.D. Man.” I’m those rappers were there to keep the flow of the performance going since she is an R&B singer. She looked great and was enjoying herself and her singing capabilities are never in doubt, so she gave a solid performance.
Next up was a change of pace in the form of D-Block. I don’t think it was a good idea for them to play clips of there biggest songs and then not perform them for an intro. They still had the crowd hype and singing there songs words for word. Then the stage got extra crowded when, Red Cafe, Fat Joe, & Fabolous came out to perform the , “Paper Touchin Remix.” D-Block also brought out Cnn and LL Cool J came out and killed it. D Block was cool but I would of preferred more of there hits performed.
T-Pain came out two stepping with top hat on. He wasted no time bringing out Shawty Lo to perform, “Dey Know,” which got everyone hype. Then he bought out Miami in the form of DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Fat Joe(well he got a house there) & Ace Hood. The ladies got gassed thinking Ace Hood was Lil Wayne, smh. Performance was cool.
Next up was Lil Wayne, the crowd was extremely hype to see him hit the stage. He came out doing, “A Milli,” follwed by his verse on the ,”Dey Know Remix.” He then does, “Duffle Bag Boy,” with Playaz Circle.” He does a couple of tracks and then starts playing the guitar. bad idea because he sucks at it lol, in the video you can hear girl saying wtf, lol. He then does, “Leather So Soft,” and then makes a horrible decision. He proceeds to perform Pussy Monster for 5 minutes which felt like an eternity. All the guys in the audience were being put to sleep by the third verse, and I think even the ladies got the point. He then does Lollipop which got everyone hype and brought out Kanye for the remix. I was not impressed by Lil Wayne’s performance at all, there is mad shit he could of performed to make his set poppin, It was a let down to me.
Next up was Kanye West performing, “Diamonds are Forever.” He had an elaborate setting with a lot of lighting, trying to bring some of the, “Glow In The Dark Tour,” feeling to hit set. He then does, “Champion,” “Get Em High,” & “Jesus Walks.” His performance was cool but it was annoying you can barely see him due to too much smoke and the main screen being turned off. Kanye brought out Consequence and later Young Jeezy to perform, “Put On.” He did a freestyle which I already posted, performed Flashing Lights with a model walking on stage & ended of with, “Good Life.” I was hoping for, “Big Brother,” followed by a Jay-Z appearance but was disappointed again. Kanye did a good job, but after seeing the, “Glow In The Dark Tour,” i wasn’t too excited for this one. Would of been better with less effects & smoke and more of Kanye just spitting.
Next was Public Enemy which was a performance I had to sit down for. I mean I like some of thier music but they was preaching waaaaaaaay too much. People in the audience weren’t even listening, they was playing lollipop in thier head. They were just out of place and took too long to get to songs people may know, they didn’t even perform, “He Got Game.” Then Flavor Flav got on the mic and would not let go of it, to the point I was hoping they would cut his mic lol. He did his thing with that dance he does though lol. Public Enemy need less talking and to perform songs people in the audience knew.
The surprise special guest turned out to be Jim Jones & Juelz. I was hoping for 50 cent to pop out since T.O.S. is on the way, but it ain’t happen. Jim Jones performed Certified Gangstaz and then Juelz got the crowd poppin with, “Santana’s Town.” At that point I had enough and dipped.
The show ended way earlier than last year, and I think last year was a better show. I got to say I was disappointed, with Lil Wayne & Kanye at the same show I was expecting more. But get a second opinion on the so because maybe my standards and/or expectations were too high.

The first act was Ray-J and Young berg they performed the few hits they had(if you can call them that) and bounced.The ladies was feeling sexy can.But wasnt really no crowd participation .People were still getting in
Then The Dream came on he.Had his swag on Max.He did his 3 singles and bounced.Good performance.Ladies was into it.A few men
Next Alicia Keys comes up she starts off with ghetto story and she does some cuts off her album.She says she loveshiphop and is a realhiphop head and then she says let me bring out my favorite goup Raekwon comesand out and the crowd goes crazy he performs “incarcerated scarfaces” the crowd rapping with him word for word.Then Method man comes out they perform C.R.E.A.M. crowd goes crazy once again.And then ghostface comes out and does his verse from ice cream.And then M-e-t-h-o-d MAN comes on and Methhis crunk nigga rocking on the stage jumping off the stage getting close to the fans.And then the Wu bounces and Ms.Keys who was looking mighty tasty i have to say finishes wit her song “no one”
Next D-Block comes on Djing was Kid Capri he did a goodjob and they came out minus Jada to 2 guns up and the crowd goes crazy.They go thru a couple of D-Block classics and then I get high come on and it was kinda ofironic because most of the crowd where i was seated was blazing up.sh*t was too funny.And then somnigga jus comes runnin on stage and we find out its Red cafe and performs paper touchin. and then the big screen moves on and we see Jadakiss,Fabolous,and FatJoe and the crowd goes crazy.They all spit the crowd standing up all into that sh*t and they bounce.D-Block gets back to performing they perform we goona make it and then banned from tv comes on and Nore and nature comes out the crowd goes crazy again.Them two niggas bounce and styles does blow your mind with Swizz and then Swizz perfroms his new single where the cash out and then they end it with sheek’s good love which the ladies was really feeling and then we think its over but no LL Cool J comesout of nowhere and runs on stage and perfroms Headsprung and Im Bad.and then he says “alot of yall sleeping,we gonna open ya eyes this year”.and then exits
After that the crowdis energized.T-Pain comesout with his nappy boys they two step.T-Pain sings lyircs from his song kiss kiss over unks two step.He dances his ass off acting crazy.and then Shawty lo comes out perfroms dey know crowd was into it and then dj khaled come out of nowhere and starts talking about how he so hood and on the big screen we see rick ross no shirt and all the crowd goes crazy.ross does his verse on im so hood and then khaled talks again and then a nigga with dreads runs from out of nowhere at first the crowd was excited and cheering loud thinking it was weezy but then they say it was jus ace hood and sat back in their seats.Ace hood performed cash flow.And then t-pain did the we takin ove remix and did his verse fat joe came did his verse and rick ross did his verse and then all but t-pain and akon bounced and they perfomed Bartender and buy you a drink and then t-pain says something funny i cant remember and he leaves i think it was like “in the wordsof geogre bush fuck you niggas”LOL
Next Angie Martinez comes out she asks the crowd who they came to see she says did yall come to see public enemy,did yall come to see knaye,and then she says who elseoh yea did yall come to see weezy.A loud cheer comes from the crowd.
And then all the lights go off and all you hear his a milli amlli amlli.Lights flashing smoke every where.ALMOST everybody on there feet and they you see weezy centerstage.The crowd goes fucking nuts. he does his verse from a milli.Than he does what he always does at his concerts “i believe in god do you,i aint sh*t without you”.Then he does his verse from shawty lo’s dey know remix and then brings out tity boi for duffle bag boy.And then he gets a mic stand centerstage and perfroms”Im Me”.Very good song i might say myself.Takes a seat plays around on the guitar does leather so soft and then he does the song that makes all the ladies goe wild Pussy Monster.The girls went crazy and then he did Lollipop and then he said “rmx baby” Kanye runs out does his verse.Weezy bows down to Ye and compliments him and then he does his whitney housten thingy and bounces

all you see is no lights and purple and blue smoke on stage and you hear diamonds are forever.ye does one verse and then he does champion with fireworks and all it was amazing.He does jesus walks and get em high.All with the smoke rising and the nice lights.and then conseuqeunce comesout and does a verse from the good the bad the ugly.The crowd really wasnt feeling it and then Ye comes back wit You Cant tell me nothing and then Put on comes on Jeezy runs out and the crowd goes wild they perform Ye peforms Flashing Lights and does a freestyle and which he talks about bombing at summerjam and takin a L.Very nice lights and smoke and fireworks by the way and rite g comes out and walks on stage with some dominatrix sh*t on,he does stronger and finshes it out with a strong performance wit t-pain of good life
Public enemy comes out and this lil girl says some shit about the sean bell case and how we have to make a change and they then public enemy comes out and the crowd was jus sitting there.They talked about how radio and tv stations had the power.Good energy they pefromed there classic songs .Flav was acting a fool.Flav said some kind words and they left.Crowd wasnt really into them
jim jones and juelz come out to bad to the bone they pefrom some well known dipset songs like santans town,byrd gang money,dipsetanthem,they had niggas like un kasa and hell rell on stage and some other niggas,they said rest in peace stack bundles and played emotionless and they end the show wit we fly high.everybody was in to it
I wasnt close enuff to see and hear everything.shit i couldnt tell you what color shoes weezy was wearing but all i know is my section was off the hook.It was a group of 7 white people jus dancing smoking weed and having a good time.It was so fucking fun.Im defiantly going next year i jus wanna say this show as crazy mad ladies wit the everything out i mean everything for they boobies to they ass to they stomachs sh*t was crazy.Lots people smoking weed in the stands and it was all hiphop thank you realtalkny
