Actually, some of these people aren’t feeling Jay because they’re racists. A rapper from the UK performed at one of their festivals that’s generally rock and although some people really rocked it out with him, some of them threw things at him like bottles and banana peels calling him a monkey and all kinds of other racial/racists terms. However, for the others, I agree with Jay. You could have put Coldplay or Fall Out Boy on the Summer Jam roster and hiphop would at least give them a chance. That’s all Jay’s asking for–a chance. I just hate how close minded people can be in this world. It’s 2008, man. Let that other stuff ride already!

This is nothing to do with Jay-Z personally, its the fact that the festival is a rock festival. It would be like an indie or rock band headlining at Summerjam or something. You would get the same reaction!

one of the things i respect about jay is that he didnt go the ghetto route and talk shit like all these other rappers would have done. he responded with class. that shows you the type of man he has become.

I co-sign what Jay-Z saying and when some thing is new like Hip Hop will be at this concert maybe Kayne would of bein better because has that crossover between black and white fans and is proabaly more accepted than Jay-Z will be.

I mean can we give a Jay a chance and see how the show comes out? The audience for the Glastonbury festival might surprise us and rock with Jay than they do with the millions of other acts that are on this bill. There is a reason why he was approached and added to the bill.
