May be I’m getting to old for this sh*t, or this is just dumb as hell?? Rakim said “It ain’t where you from, it where you’re at.” TI has been claiming Bankhead since the early 2000s, and no one from Bankhead or any place else has said otherwise; so what’s the point of doing it now. What is Shawty Hoes point?? You mean you suppose to be the King of Bankhead, and you let a n*gga eat off you hood for close to a decade, and didn’t do nothing but shake your Laffy Taffy. And now, that that man’s hand are tied, you got balls all of a sudden?? Is that gangsta or is that b*tch?? N*ggas can vouch for him all day, but if it smell like p*ssy, sound p*ssy, y’all know the rest.

Also, I thought real is suppose to recognize real; so is Shawty Hoe saying all of those that stood with TI is fake too. This includes most of ATL, UGK (both Bun & Pimp [RIP]), 8Ball & MJG, Scarface, most of Houston, Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, Lil’ Scrappy, P$C, Snoop & the DPG, Young Buck, Lil’ Wayne, BG, Juve, and even Luda, after they squashed their beef, and d*mn near ever real n*gga in the game. Like I said, this is stupid.

T.I. has lyrical talent and Shawty Lo is lyrically challenged….
Okay…now that we got that out the way…
On another message board, a cat commented saying he went to RIVERDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL with T.I. and that T.I. lived in a neighborhood across the street from RIVERDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL. On the MTV “My Block” episode a few years back, NEVER does T.I. refer to the ‘hood as “Bankhead”, just calling it instead “The Trap”. But he DEFINATELY said he lived in that house his WHOLE LIFE…
If you pause at a certain point, you will see the camera flash the street signs on the corner, which is the intersection of “CEDAR DR & EVANS DR”…right by RIVERDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL just like ol’ dude said! It’s all right there! T.I. said he lived there HIS “WHOLE LIFE”. So if your uncle and cousins live in a hood and your granny live there too and you go visit on the weekends, that’s cool, but THAT DON’T MEAN YOU ARE FROM THERE! He told us where he was from. So why not rep where you really from??? And on his song “Bankhead”, T.I. says “Imma pull over in Bowen Homes where all my cousins’ll be/and they gon’ hide me in they crib while they [police] lookin’ for me”…Well, where were these cousins when Shawty Lo ran through Bowen Homes running Tip name in the ground? Not a single cousin or relative or homie to vouch for him??? Hmmm…
If you from Riverdale, why not rep it proud? What’s wrong with that? Especially since these cats on message boards (who probably also live in Riverdale) claim it’s so hood (calling it the “Southside” when really the S.W.A.T.S. is the Southside).
But that’s what Hip Hop has evolved into…I mean for real, name one positive anti-gangsta rapper who gets mainstream airplay…not even the homie Lupe Fiasco…at least not down here in the south.

I’m not sure about the time frame of 2000 – 2004 but the situation is closer than i thought even though I believe the main issue was the lyrical content t.i. and luda had different content hence diff lanes where lo and t.i. are in the same lane.

but the point of succesful multi talents holdin up spots from others is a GREAT POINT and a whole diff issue. Its always amazed me how they let like 5 blacks eat in all forms of media seemimngly… Books, acting, music, etc (Jaime foxx, Will Smith, etc)

The sad part bout this lame ass stunt is that TI did the SAME exact thing to Flip during their “beef”. TI started claimin Flip wasn’t from Cloverland cuz some nobody said so … then came to Houston n got on the radio sayin he was gon go to Cloverland and that be bet Flip wouldn’t be there. (now lets remember that Flip was doin his thang at the moment, so why WOULD he be in the hood instead of makin money some where?)

So TI and PSC go to Cloverland wit video cameras talkin bout “we don’t see Flip”. Next thing u know Flip & Z-Ro hear bout wuz goin on and roll up on em, and what happens happens. i agree with you on the content of they rhymes and ones doing it for the street while the other has more hollywood type dreams

but the gap between luda and tip was bigger than the gap between tip and shawty lo. tip and shawty lo aint that far apart (imo).
luda came out in 2000, was 4 albums deep and multi-platinum every time, wit record sales growing each time when tip decided to challenge him in 04. tip was on his second album, had a hit wit “i’m serious” and next album “rubberband man”. he grew during the beef wit luda
shawty lo already had a bigger hit in his catalog wit laffy taffy even if it was wack, it was gettin that “ringtone paper”. then “dey know” might be bigger than rubberband man ever was. so he got a couple of hits under his belt like tip did, so he feel he can challenge him like tip did luda.
lyrically he cant see tip, but lyrically tip cant see luda.

and seeing as how tip now has hollywood ambitions he should let shawty lo do him, luda was on law & order a few times and movies, tip is in movies, who needs rap, fuck rap, let shawty lo have that shit.
