I think its bullshit. Why cant Nas have his album called Nigger? Would it be different if it was Nigga? The fact that it is a “swear” word shouldnt matter. There is a band in Canada called KEPLER, under Resonance Records, that put out an album called “Fuck Fight Fall”, but they didnt have to change the title. There was an Indie Rock band out of Oakland call FUCK, and the first album they put out was a self titled album called FUCK. There is even a record company called Fuck Bald Records. So is it really because the album title is a curse word, or is it because the word brings back things from the past that people would rather just cover up. Well the truth is the shit happened. Slavery happened, slaves being called Niggers happened, there’s no changing that shit.

I think the record company is wrong for making Nas change his shit. I mean you can say Nigga in a song, you can have it be in the title of a song, shit it can even be the title of a song, but it cant be on the front of an album, total bullshit.

I could be wrong, and maybe he was right for chaning it, but as far as my opinion goes, he should have kept it the same.

I think the changing of the album title was the best move. Seeing that title would just cause individuals out of curiosity to pick it up and see what it’s all about, it would not have changed the way the world is, so WHY then title your album said title. I’m an Esco dude all the way, so don’t get it wrong. Let’s not making ploy marketing moves to move unit’s, Esco’s talent is far then enough and his true fans support him based on that. Just make hot tracks and get Primo on the majority of your beats, work w/Pete Rizok as well, it’s LONG over due(Who’s world is it)!

That’s real talk by #40. Nas is a very intelligent dude and had a concept for the title but who would of followed it besides us and the black media? No major mass market would of carried the album and his plan would of backfired on him. I’m disappointed but I understand why he did it. All I want for him to come up with a better album title. “Reggin” wasn’t a bad idea.

I’m not surprise at the title change.. I already know how hip hop politics are today and the label wasn’t going to let it fly. I’m sure Nas had no control of the decision of the title change trust.. regardless of the title the album will be dope.
