New York Murders, Rapes & Robberies On The Rise
The NYPD figures show murders are up 24.7 percent, from 89 during the same period last year to 111.
Rapes jumped 13.8 percent, from 324 to 369. Robberies rose 4.5 percent, from 4,595 to 4,803.
The jumps in murder and robbery are particularly alarming to top brass and criminologists because these categories are viewed as “bellwether” crime indicators – and the Big Apple in recent years had been bucking upward national crime trends.
Damn it hasn’t even hit the summer yet, watch your back people.

Given that NYC has over 9 million people (same with Cali) those murder rates and robbery rates are not all that bad. Places like Philly, Detroit, Baltimore, Norfolk, Camden, Compton (not included with the rest of LA) etc have far smaller populations and murder rates that are almost equivalent to the same percentage. All in All the most important thing is to watch your back, be safe, and skip the bullshit.

the crimes in chicago to me has the biggest rating. and if any of ya were from chicago ya would know that. i mean mothafuckas getting killed everyday for no reason. but for some reason i feel that chicago is underrated tho. and what i mean by that is even tho chicago has the most rating it seem like NYC and LA is getting more talked about when it come to crime rate and we don’t. it seem like NYC and LA get talked all around the U.S but we don’t even tho the chicago crime rate is higher both of em. i feel that NYC and LA is overrated they get more attention then chicago. but people from chi-town no what im talking about when i say we have a big crime and this shit has been going on for years. now im not tryin to say that it a good thing and im also not tryin to put chicago on the map when it come to crime rate. but we should get some attention to cuz the killing in chicago is crazy. but at the same time it all stupid dumb and senseless shootin and killings and i think it should stop. all them fake ass gangs shootin mothafucka for no reason is retarded. and if you lived in chicago you’ll will no what im talking about. beside that i don’t like gang violence i think gangs in general are cowards. i mean if you have to walk with a group tryin to be hard it make you a coward. and it also mean that your tryin to hide the fact that your a punk so you walk with a group for support. i think gangbanging should be extincted being that it not serious anymore to me people make it a joke. but if your tryin to be a gangbanger be serious don’t get into it to be hard and to kill for no reason. i mean a real mothafucka who do it independently to provide for there family and not just for fun. but in this generation we have wanna be thug who would do it for fun which is a shame.

It ain’t just NY. The simple resolution to these conflicts are – creation of jobs, overhauling the fucked criminal justice system, straining capitalism(no communisms though),and a hard focus on completely eradicating poverty. Put these things to test and watch the mayhem decrease substanstially.

I agree about Chicago but I think OnBlast left him out of the lineup b/c the city has well over 3.8 million people, all those other cities that were named have 2 million or less which makes the murder rate percentage the same or worse in some cases even if the number is lower. Camden is a bad place.

na i believe maryland has the highest murder rate, newyork has more total murders but we got like 9million people.
i knew the rate was bout to go up because nypd always complain about low wages and low recruiting class, alot of niggas i know is joining the police academy and when u graduate they put u right in the projects early. so low pay equals more white cops leaving to join the port authority police or suffolk county departments, meaning blacks and latinos who were teens when louima got stuck, diallo got sprayed are joining the force which is great, they wear a uniform but sum of those niggas is working for us on the low so i encourage more blacks to join up, shit when the war start, u aint gonna stand wit your boys in blue, not for 9$ an hour u aint

Couple things i want to say . its sad we so hood that we brag about murder rates like its some badge of honnor . This is just fact though ! you can google it up if you want to . And any New York kat in here a cosign this for me . The murder rate is based on every hundred thousand people . so when you have a state like california or new york where its so many people that live there . the murder rates drop . im not sure about cali but in new york . them bodies are coming from the boro’s not upstate for the most part . Check the info … no other state Besides california had more bodies then NY . i hear people shouting murder rates out then you go check the stats only a hundred people died you like that got the highest murder rate ??? please . In new york we build up not out like they do in some other places . so it millions of people living on top of each other . when them bodies fall trust it round the corner or up the block . if you stay in the hood .

well wat da hell did they expect…ny waz only fallen cause there waz open jobs and cops waz violating mad laws 2 get ppl locked up which made a friendly environment….well now a lot of ppl losin jobs and homes shit is just getting worse economically and politically….if shit is rising right now then u can only expect shit 2 get worse once it hit summer or wenever da weather starts 2 get hot.i dont think anybody wanna see a violent ny again (hopefully harlem and bk can still be held stable da way they are now)….i heard bx is rising and datz not a good sign!!!
