The original ending was alot better.I didnt think the movie was bad but it could have had a little more action and also i rather had like the zombies/vampires to be played by real people instead of CGI.(like dawn of the dead)

It was a good movie, but I know a few people who didn’t like it. Can’t satisfy everyone.

And the original ending was indeed so much better than this one. I guess they made this one first, and it wasn’t all that good, so they came up with a different one. Who knows.

That ending was even worse.. #1 those zombies were non approachable… so u mean all he had to do was yell out “I can help you!” and they would’ve calmed down???? #2 I thought those zombies were sensitive to light, but yet there in a well lit room of fire #3 the shit was just wack.. the original version was better

i thought the original ending was better. it just kinda solidifies his “legend” if he died trying to save humanity. btw i respect everyone havin his/her opinion and all, but if u thought cloverfield was better than this than u jost got fukd up taste, i’m sorry fuk ur opinion! the reason why will smith is probably the biggest actor rite nw is becoz he does not make movies with obvious endings and typical story lines. he thinks outside the box. not those trashy movies filled with black comedians that make no sense.

1. It was not because he yelled out “I could help you”. All the monster wanted was his chick back and back to the way she was. He’s the leader of the group and he made everyone else calm down.

2. They are not sensitive to light but the radiation of the sun. Fire only omits light and not radiation therefore they could withstand it.

The book was different all together. Can’t even compare them, really. More of a psycological science fiction, the book. But this movie is all visual effects.

This ending was okay. Some folks like happy endings, some like it when everyone dies. So on the damn DVD everyone can be happy. 5000

i really think the theaters ending is better and it makes more sence for 2 reasons:

1)the monsters are supose to not have one hint of human left in them meaning that they cant love

2)to be a legend you have to have died so if they had gone for this ending the movies name would not be I am legend. It would be something like I am alone

with the original ending I thought it was an awsome movie and I cant wait for it to come out on dvd

First, the skin of the infected is sensitive to UV light, not radiation, or anything else. UV frequencies are generated by the sun, but can also be generated by special lamps. Fire does not generate it, nor do simple lamps.

Second, there is such a thing as a ‘living legend’ and even then, when the guy eventually dies he’ll be a legend as well.

Third, neither ending made sense to me. I think the DVD one is better than the theatre one, but only barely so. Especially puzzling in the DVD one is that they don’t make any note of wether or no he can still reproduce his ‘cure’. I also didn’t think the infected should have been ‘reasonable’. However, I disagree with the statement that they should not be able to love. Even though the guy states that there was a complete collapse in human traits in the infected, that doesn’t mean they don’t still have animal ones. The reason the leader guy comes back for his mate does not have to be love at all, but simply an animal instinct of sticking with one’s mate. And who’s the say that’s not a form of love?
