The Series, "The Wire," Is Now Over
Last night, “The Wire,” had it’s series finale with the last episode to it’s fifth season. The show which started in 2002 was a hood favorite, depicting the mean streets of Baltimore from the viewpoints of the police, politicians and criminals. What are your thoughts on the series overall and the series finale?

Damn, i was waiting for Barksdale to come back at some point, but i guess he didnt. The last last episode was were they actually proved that Stanfield actually can do shit too and doesnt rely entirely on muscle. That was a nice scene when you busted cleared a corner.
What im i gonna watch now?! For some reason i dont think this will be the last we see of The Wire. Greedy mofo’s are probably going to try crop more green from this popularity of this show. Hope they dont ruin it.

OH MY GOD…I AM GOING TO MISS THE WIRE SO MUCH. I NEVER MISSED AN EPISODE. THEY HAD MY ATTENTION FROM DAY ONE. I HAD A THING FOR STRINGER BELL AND AVON WHEN THEY LEFT THE SHOW I WAS SO MAD BUT IT WAS SO GOOD I KEPT WATCHING!I LOVE HTE FINALE HOW IT SHOWED EVERYTHING HAS ITS CYCLE. MICHAEL TURNE INTO THE NEW OMAR, MARLO: STRINGER BELLE, DUGGIE: BUBBLES….AND SO ON. THE CROOKED POLICE! IT WAS SO GOOD. IF YOU WERE NOT A FULL FAN YOU MAY NOT HAVE GOTTON THE WHOLE MESSAGE….LOVED IT, MISS IT!

I’m a lil disapointed cause I thought Avon was gonna come back, I thought Marlo was gonna get taken out, I think the best part of the ending was when Chris & Weebay met up by the fence that right there warrants another episode the 2 right hand men of Avon & Marlo choppin it up c’mon they can’t do this to me, not so soon!!!! all in all I was glued to the screen for the hour & half it was on praying they would say after the credits finished rolling that they would be back!! When Daniels was in the elevator with Mcnulty & said 2 be continued I thought that may have been some sort of subliminal message to tell us it wasn’t over!!! Oh well I will truly miss that show now it’s nothing to do on my Sunday nights anymore, might as well go to sleep early!!(lol)

The show was unlike any other on TV today; A ground breaker for sure! I am definitely gonna miss watching that show.
As far as the way it ended i think that it was great, i loved that it came full circle at the end. The Game stays the same just the players change! And they stayed try for the most part with this ending. I loved it.
But the part about dukie was fucked up and i loved how slim charles manned up finally and repped for prop joe. I dont know about the rest of yall im kinda glad marlo stayed the king lol

yeah The show was the best on tv and last nights episode left the door open for another show or a movie like the sporanos is doing thats why I think they left marlo alive the only thing I didnt like was the fact they didnt show senator davis lol shiitttttttt and I think that white news reporter should have goten some type of punishment but that just shows how the real world is if you white lol michael is the next marlo not omar thats why he told snoop If I WAS Marlo AND SHE SAID U NOT MOTHERFUCKER ……. Shit was pretty hot, at least they did us better then the Sopranos. They pretty much gave a full closure on all the characters. I felt Mike should have died, I mean, just to go out with a “Bang”. Its good to see Marlo still alive though, and he took the BUSINESS route, why was I thinking of JAY-Z when I saw him in that suit?

But yeah, all eyes were on Mike and Marlo for this last episode, so whatever…fucked up wit Dookie…but hey in RETURN Bubbles was FINALLY clean.
ANd SLIM CHARLES is that dude, did anyonoe else notice besides me, how he was the ONLY nigga in the game to stick around since the SEASON 1 days? (Barksdale Days)

upon first watching that joint i was kinda heated that there were no revelations to be made ya dig? but then as I was walking to work this morning thinking about calling my dude and saying that i wasnt feeling the last episode, i had a moment. like my dude said up above that it is a cycle. 1 dopefiend recovers just to see a young buck fall victim to the needle. 2 cops get fired 5 more get promoted. it goes to show that our society is stuck in a circle and that the same nonsense that happens in Baltimore happens in your and mines backyard, some places just do a better job keeping it under wraps. i think the show made an excellent point that even though we’ve made tons of progress we still have a long way to go before we remedy the whole problem…we can only sweep shit under the rug for so long..

to the previous comments that talked about the cycle, you hit it right on the nose. There were no favorites to the Wire writing team. Anyone could get it and anyone could succeed. My wife just asked me why do people keep selling drugs after obtaining so much? Marlo was the perfect example, did you notice how he felt uncomfortable with the lawyer at the party? But, he took in a deep breath on the corner after two-piecing those lil kids (he felt at home). I’m from Baltimore and all the actors repped for-real. PEACE

Last episode was on point…. The wire shows that It ain’t just the streets that corrupt… But also the policemen who make up fake killers and cook the murder rate(season 4)…. Levy( the lawyer) ….. And even tha newpaper writers… Like omar said to levy in season one “only difference between me n u is u Cary a briefcase n I carry a shotgun” they all part of the same game… Dam ima miss this show

Didn’t expect youngin mike 2 pop up n take da money wit sum random nigga n method man’s character wuz always ah cornball 2 me. That was a good ending…Im mad its over though….Im just happy they killed faggot ass omar…I was mad as hell wen his lil gay love scenes would come out of no where and fuck up the whole episode…and he killed my boy stringer and made the barksdale shit hot wit his gay vendetta..but dont worry HBO gonna put out some new hot shit..cause the corner was fire too and oz (oz was a lil gay though)…Im sure they got some fire shit for us to watch comin up soon

its amazing that after all these years, the one survivor of the streets was BUBBLES THE CRACK HEAD isnt that ironic.

I would have ended the show with Marlo, being found guilty for Drug Trafficking. Then sentence to a Maximum Prison. where Marlo is greeted by Avon who say you may have been the man out there, but I’m top dog in here welcome to my world. That would have been sweet. Did anyone notice Michael was the new Omar.

Being that i’ve been a fan of The Wire since Season 1 I’m sad to see the show end. In my opinion this was 1 of the best tv shows ever. I will also say that out of all 5 seasons this last season was probably the 4th best. The ending left us hangin’ which is not kool. What was gonna happen with Marlo? He aint got no more muscle and he gave the connect away. I also thought the serial Killa storyline was a lil too over the top but I was happy that Cheese got killed(Dat was hot).

He got stabbed in the arm. That scene was just showin that UNLIKE Stringer Bell, Marlo wasnt comfortable in the business world. The fact he took “damn thats better” breaths after the fight with him and the corner kids showed that.

The last episode was HOT. It wasn’t crack, but it was hot. I can’t believe they shot Cheese (Method Man)…..& If there were to be another season, I don’t think Marlo would make a good businessman. He’s too street orientated. He looked like a fish outta water with all em rich folks. & I’m mad they didn’t do much with Michael’s character. They could have at least let him get shot or sum. me myself,i really didn’t like the season ending because they didn’t show enoough of the hood,and the grimy parts. for that show to be as good as it was it ended fucked up.michael being the new omar,and chris chillin with wee-bay was the best parts.
