Fabolous Next Release Will Be A Concept Album

DSC_0001

“What Jay-Z did [with 'American Gangster'] … he took that Frank Lucas character and put it in the frame of his Jay character,” Fab opined. “That’s what I wanna do. I don’t wanna say I that I’m actually the character, but take some of his scenarios or some things I went through and tell it in my tone.”

Fab refused to disclose the movie he was patterning his album after, but he said it isn’t too old, though it is classic. He doesn’t anticipate too many cameos, and producers on Loso’s radar include DJ Toomp, Kanye West, Just Blaze and Polow Da Don. With a structure in place, he feels he can complete his opus at a more expedient rate than usual.

The same album with the same pre-album bizz shit as ever. He say’s shit like this before every album and we get the same ol’-same ol’.
It’s cool, but it’s the same ol’.
Same ol’ I’ma do this or i’ma do that
and we’ll get the top R&B folks again and more Diamonds and More chick anthems. I mean it’s cool but same ol’, same ol’.
Same best that money can buy album

  27. MaL Says:

Myke Wayne (#26), CHHHUUCH!! Had 2 cosign ya!

I’m a fan of Fab and have BOUGHT ALL 4 of his albums, but I’ve learned that dude jus doesn’t have what it takes 2 make a GREAT album or either he’s jus playin it safe. He always talks about how his new shit is so much MORE than his previous and I don’t know if he actually believes dat shit or not. All his albums are pretty good, but he has a good # of fillers on all of’em. He’s established enuff 2 where his albums don’t have 2 be contrived w/ the “r&b” song, his “hood” song, “club” song, “playa” song etc. And sometimes his beat selection is SUSPECT. Fab can spit RETARDED, but he really needs 2 LOCK IN and make a HARD/SOLID disc w/o all the compromise!!!!

  28. YNGMELLOW Says:

FAB IS KILLING IT MY NIGGAZZ

DAT NIGGA WAYNE IS FINALLY DIEING OUT AND FAB IS STILL GOING STRONG LIKE KOBE THO! LOL
    BUT, NAW
DIS IS A GOOD LOOK FOR HIP HOP

  32. shine95 Says:

#5 Chicagorilla is right. Fab actually been doing that movie concept shit. with Loso’s way(Carlito’s way) his mixtape. ain’t really nothin new with the movie concept album/mixtape thing. Papoose came out with Menace 2 Society and assuming Boyz in the Hood a while back. the only thing jay trendsetted is that he title his album exactly American Gangster and dropped it the same time the soundtrack came out. all in common they all had voice samples from the movie for their mixtapes/albums.TI did a concept album, I was sleeping…..
