Bun B Speaks On Lil Wayne’s Addiction Syrup
Rhapsody: Lil Wayne recently made a lot of headlines by admitting to being addicted to syrup [prescription-strength cough syrup]. What were your thoughts?
Bun B: I wish they would just leave the kid alone. When you have 100 people telling you to not do something, that sh*t doesn’t work like that. Now me, I hadn’t sipped syrup for a while before Pimp died. Does that mean I let all my vices go? F*ck no. I’m still drinking and smoking weed. Ike Turner died of cocaine use. People haven’t stopped snorting cocaine. Thousands of people die drunk driving every year and somebody is going to drive home drunk tonight. People stop doing things whenever they sort of feel their way up to it. The kid said he would love to stop, but the withdrawals symptoms are too intense for him. Anybody going through something like that knows that’s what it is. I say this to all media, you can’t force Lil Wayne to stop sipping drank. That’s gonna be a personal choice.
If someone is a crackhead I won’t say be easy on them because they can’t handle the withdrawal symptoms.

Damn Lil Wayne is an addict and Bun B makes it seem like the problem will go away tomorrow if Lil Wayne stops sipping syrup. Wayne needs to check into rehab because shit like that always kill people the same way. One day he’s going to want to take a nap after sipping that juice and he aint never gonna wake up after that nap. No wonder when he’s not rapping, all he does is mumble nonsense to the point its not even audible. Seek Help nigga.

It’s not a matter of forcing lil wayne to do anything. There’s an overall concern that he’s doing something detrimental to his life and ppul would be remissed not to say anything, especially after losing several rappers to the same issue, namely Pimp C. Bun B has blood on his hands and he knows it. He’s promoted this syrup shit along with other goofy niggas in the game. Now, instead of being a voice of positive influence, he’s just fallin back. Not that he should save the world, but since niggas like him help to promote this “epidemic” the least they can do is say they were wrong and help those afflicted.

Just leave the drugs alone. So many artists love taking drugs and then glorify that ish on records and in interviews. I have no sympathy for people like this. Get yourself together cause those drugs are gonna kill you one day. If your life don’t end like Pimp C’s it will still shorten your life. A lot of these people will not even reach the age of 45 and when they get older they gonna get a lot of health issues if they continue with drugs like it’s water.

he needs to stop, wayen can get his daughter tooken out of custody from him. Stuff like this can cause him to loose his daughter. wHAT HE IS DOING IS NOT POSITIVE, HE NEEDS A ROLE MODEL IN HIS LIFE TO TEACH HIM. he needs to stop thinking about himself, and start thinking about his family. He lost his dad at a young age, so he should know what theat feels like, and should be a real fatherto his daughter.
