#8
the problem is that the artist, rap artist anyway, dont put all that hardwork and time or effort into the albums, they put more effort into the single. and back when we couldnt download the album we had to pay full price or buy bootleg, and when u pay full price for a album and the rapper is spittin sum halfass bullshit, u feel like you u just got robbed and your getting robbed repeatedly. so i'm just downloading what they owe me

Personally i dont get it.

Why has iTunes, or per per download worked so well for companies?

Are people Naive? or do they just want to download the right way? Paying for a ringtone i could understand because creating ringtones does require work. But seriously, what in the world could they possibly be offering consumers to pay .99 cents per song?

At this point you can literally go to GOOGLE and download/find what you want for yourself. For Example: Day26, which just leaked to the internet less than 48 hours ago, you could goto GOOGLE type "Day26 ddl" or Even Day26 album download and find it. ANd those search techniques are the worst, but the point im making is these companies think that people are going to buy into downloading shit off there site and charging .99 cents a download. Sooner or Later there going to be right back at the drawing board. They've got to come up with something more creative, to intrigue people to buy. Pay .99 cents for a shitty as song, that you dont want on the album is stupid. Even that, individualizing the songs is even a worse idea. Think about it. You're artist put all that time and effort into the music and the company is giving the PEOPLE the option to skip over or not download the track.

This is why i say, this system will NOT WORK 3-5 year down the road.

As far as MySpace and Facebook is concerned they are just adding it into their revenue stream. Not to try to compete with Apple but really because they can earn a couple extra mil just by including this in their platform. Clearly if you can keep someone from leaving your site you can do it at all costs. MySpace/Facebook has not chance in hell of competing with Apple, not even on a good day.

I use itunes already, and don't really see what myspace is offering that's new. The ringtones thing is cool though.

Watch them do myspace maps now too, so you can see how far you live from your friends.

I don't think that would generate money...since that nails right into privacy issues, but if myspace does that...the future's gonna be lookin stupid.

does tom still own/run myspace? or did he sell it like a year ago? i know he's still the "face" of it...but i thought someone bought it out. someone wanna confirm or do the research and post it here?

Myspace blows facebook out the damn water. I don't see the competition between the two at all, yet again I'm not that big of a social media dork.
