The thing u gotta appreciate about Kweli’s lyrical skill is that he’ll create concepts, lines, songs, or ideas that no one else is touching on. He maintains his humility even though he knows he’s on his own plateau and level. One him and Mos Def went their separate ways, he never dropped the ball. He’s been consistantly dropping albums and mixtapes for years. Although he wasnt as well knows as Mos Def was to the mainstream listener, it never broke his stride. Thats a champion mentality. Kweli is for the people. I support this dude. Hes the type of MC that would destroy half the industry on stage, then he can wake up the next morning and talk to an elementary school classroom about reaching their destinies.
