Big L is definitely up there when you talk about the all time greats.Songs like Ebonics, Street Struck, and Casualities of A Dice Game are some of the prime examples of classic Hip Hop. He is definitely in the elite class of MC’s he was the metaphor king, and I wish he was still around word. His homie McGruff the Crime Dog is one of the most slept on dudes in hip hop, if you don’t know do your history

R.I.P. Big L
But he reminds me of Papoose today. Lyrics are potent and consistent but he wasn’t the total package. Not as cool or fly as Jay, Pac, or Big. To me Nas seperates himself from Big L because he was able to string together hits every time he dropped an album. But we’ll never know…even Jay was a little corny till he hit 25 or 26, right?

Unlike todays trash ass punchline rappers (Fab) L had an acrobatic flow which alot off these niggas (Fab) don’t and he had amazing punchlines But he also had LYRICS “Surprize niggas like a blind date//L rhyme great// and increase the crime rate//For old times sake//- Big L, not to mention his creativity with songs like Ebonics and STORYTELLING ABILITY with songs like Casulties of a Dice Game…IF Big L was still here trash ass niggas like Fab would of still been shop-lifting.
