“I did say, ‘Kanye gets the trophies, 50 gets the checks’ ,” Fif recalled. “I was saying that because when the awards shows came, they overlooked me, forgot to acknowledge my accomplishments. Anytime the Grammys came, every time the award shows came, they overlooked me. You know why – because of where I come from and how I was raised. They project that to middle America. Get Rich or Die Tryin was the number 1 selling album for 2003 but lost the, “Best Rap Album,” Grammy award to, “Speakerboxx/The Love Below.” He clearly got robbed for best new artist that year, losing to Evanescense. 50’s second release, “The Massacre,” sold over a million records in four days and was the second best selling album for the year. The Massacre ended up losing, “Best Rap Album,” to Kanye’s, “Late Registration.”
Does 50 Cent have a point or competition has just been too tough for him to win a Grammy award?

speakerboxx /Love BElow was way better than than fiddy that year. As far as best new artist I cant say because I dont really listen to Evanscene. As far as this year he shouldnt have got any nods. He dont make sense because the more grammys you win, the more checks that start coming in from major corporate sponsors. Also the more your songs get used in ads or whatever. After reebok and vitamin water, companies realized that fiddy aint marketable. First gunit clothig, the tides are turning against fiddy, and to be honest I dont know how he will recover. No new artist to break, ur gunit crew aint poppin. Things aint looking good for the boy. He is turning into what ever other artist turns into when they have to carry their label independently. Jay, wayne whoever you want to throw in there. In my personal opinion his cds keep getting worse, while peeps like Kanye get better with each cd. when you build a persona as the industy bully, eventually that gets tired, and you have to stand on his own 2 feet. I predict the end of gunit coming in 2009.

He has a lot of accomplishments, but as far as music, it has not developed too much, i wouldnt compare fifty and kanye musically, he prolly makes more money but as far as music, kanye is way more creative and grammy material, his music develops more than 50
