February 22nd, 2008 at 10:05 pm
wtf doesnt work jump off a cliff rakim
February 22nd, 2008 at 10:22 pm
Man, I can understand why #6 doesn’t know who Rakim is. If it’s not Lil Wayne or a rapper with T-Pain on the hook they don’t know about ‘em. Oh yeah Yahhh…you would lose that bet that he was wack son. Go rent the movie, “Juice”. Yes…2Pac’s very first movie role. The most bangin’ single off that soundtrack (lead single as a matter of fact) was, “Know The Ledge” by Eric B & Rakim (Naughty By Nature’s “Uptown Anthem” was the other one that was hot).
2Pac is a Rakim lookalike….u got it twisted Nephew. Just trying to enlighten you Fam. Know your history before you speak. Rakim is a Hip Hop Legend. A Real MC. Not a “rapper”. He was and still is the truth. Here are some references for you if you don’t believe it…..
Juice (Film)
P.S. - nothing against “rappers”…they have their lane and they need to stay in them. Real Hip Hop consists of MC’s. Movin Crowds is a requirement. Half the “rappers” we hear on the (Clear Channel) radio can’t MC their way out of a wet paper bag.
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:28 pm
Blog niggas are like sharks in the water just waiting for a little fish to slip up lol. I think #6 was being sarcastic.

February 23rd, 2008 at 8:29 am
what a idiot ^
February 23rd, 2008 at 8:59 am
Rakim is the most relevant mc. you gotta have his style to be dope. you don’t got dude style, you is played out like leather bombers, nah I ain’t kiddin. all these little kiddies in the rap game or inspire to be in the rap game don’t know that they already got Rakim’s style already or is vibin off it cause they vibed off the next rapper. true story
February 23rd, 2008 at 10:01 am
Some of these kids today make me laugh…2 Pac look a like..lol. As much as some of you sit online, you can just as easily do a google search to find out who Rakim is. He’s set the true blueprint on some, if not all of the greatest Mc’s, NOT RAPPERS, Mc’s to come after him in the mid 80’s You see, that’s the difference between the era in which I came up & now. My generation gave respects to the not only their peers, but the people who came before them & layed this thing down for us to be doing. So all of that I wasn’t around then talk is nonsense. Do the knowledge before you start flapping them chops!!
February 23rd, 2008 at 10:04 am
wow..i been waitin for just the single for 2 years or something now, since he played this at a BB Kings show he did in 06…holy shit, that beat is garbage but its great to see the god is back, ready to bust some ass all over the place.
February 23rd, 2008 at 10:21 am
that’s what i am talkin lil stupid ass muthafuckas don’t know about rakim saying his tupac look alike muthafucka rakim was the god mc before 2pac knew how to throw the dub thats muthafuckas who are killing hiphop and that lil fuck probably is the biggest jay-z or 50 dickrider because this kind of assholes who say that they are hiphop fans only listen to rappers for being rich and because they fuck alotta bitches i am not dissing jay-z because jay-z is o.k and 50 used to o.k also when he was hungry but these fucks who don’t know rakim and say that nas is wack and probably don’t g rap also i think these muthafuckas shouldn’t say they represent hiphop
February 23rd, 2008 at 2:10 pm
Hip hop holds onto these old niggas for to long. I dont have a problem with giving respect to pioneers who started the game, thats all fine and good but niggas need to know when to give it up.
Hip hop is starting to be like the NBA with all these old niggas. What happening to taking the last dance and bowing out gracefully. They should start a little pension plan and give these niggas some cheese every month to keep em quiet.
February 23rd, 2008 at 3:02 pm

Im not dissin him, im just giving the facts. He a old head. Time to give it up. Rap is a young mans game now. Like basketball had niggas comin out of highschool every year now college niggas are one and done every year. Its a young mans sport. No more albums if you can get the senior discount at the local sizzler. Go do a radio show or if he have enough money try to invest in the music industry in some capacity but come on with the albums, lets just keep it real. Shits not gonna sell.
And before losers start talkin about niggas not caring about the money they love the music, and all that real hip hop bullshit. Then I say make mixtape and have it be for free then. Droppin singles and doin interviews, and features. You tryin to get paid.
Sorry if I sound bitter, a nigga off a couple hrs of sleep and had to come in to work lol. Big respect to Rakim, but just give it up. Your a legend and im tired of seeing dudes I liked tarish their legacy. Remember every encore aint a good one…
February 23rd, 2008 at 5:56 pm
My question is this…..If rap is a form of music, then why can’t the artists who create it continue to make their craft til they die?
All other music genres have artists who’ve been making music for decades and who have expanded their fanbase with each generation of music listeners. If thats the case…why is it, that the people who started hip hop as we know it cannot continue to make music without being ridiculed? Is it because every hip hop artist has to be young to remain relevant? We all take advice from our elders right? So then a rapper shouldnt have to be banned from making music just cuz he’s gettin older. If elders can give good advice, then Elder rappers can make good music…..thats just my opinion
February 23rd, 2008 at 7:10 pm
To #35 Da Truth. That’s the thing. A young generation tends to not listen to the elders. They listen to people that they can relate to in there age range. Jay-Z still manages to pull through to the youth though and he’s pushing 40.
February 23rd, 2008 at 7:50 pm
the problem is that to no young mc have been able to do what the old heads are doing there is no to continue the legacy of b.i.g ,nas, rakim, big pun, gza, kool g rap, krs-1 most of them are pop bubblegum bullshit like g-unit and dipset no fuckin talent the only mc i am feeling are joell ortiz and immortal technique other than my rims and my chain and i got a bitch with a ass so big that i write my rhymes on man fuck these

I have 2 give it up 2 Ralay, The brother Nas #38 & my man Da truth for speaking the truth. I had a few more things in a reply to address 2s some of these guys on here, but you already conveyed what I was about to say. Everyone has a right to their opinion & can agree to disagree. But I simply cannot condone ignorance. I’ve had that same opinion about these so called OLD HEADS as some of these kids refer 2 them as. That statement alone shows lack of respect. Oh & a person is jusy supposed to pass you the tourch because your young? LOL!! Get serious man. You have to earn that right there. Krs said it best back in the day. ” Some of these people are hopeless, thinking record sells make them the dopest”. Latifah also said, ” A lot wack rappers went platinum. My thing is this, Hip Hop started & came a long way from the party scene. A long way from, ” A hip hop a hippy 2 the hippty hippy hop hop”, 2 Run Dmc, Black Moon, Wu Tang & the list goes on. There’s nothing wrong with anything new or change. But there isn’t 2 much range or people going outside of the box nowadays. A lot of these people are comfortable with what they see 2 copy 2 make money. I have no problem with you making your money, but do I have 2 hear about the same thing in every song? Especially when half, if not @ll the things that your bragging about if false & just for attention. If your a dope MC, your a dope MC. If your skills 2 date don’t reflect how dope used 2 be, then you might want 2 consider hanging it up. But like my man said before. If Other genres of music can do it, why can’t we? But you just don’t get a free pass cause your younger & wack as hell..lol.

Whatever the age, relevance, etc. THIS IS THE GOD MC
and there is NO OTHER!
May not be greatest of all time (very arguable) but he is THE GOD MC!
