50 Cent Comments On Not Winning A Grammy Award
“I did say, ‘Kanye gets the trophies, 50 gets the checks’ ,” Fif recalled. “I was saying that because when the awards shows came, they overlooked me, forgot to acknowledge my accomplishments. Anytime the Grammys came, every time the award shows came, they overlooked me. You know why – because of where I come from and how I was raised. They project that to middle America. Oh my goodness, their kids might wanna be like me!”

Get Rich or Die Tryin was the number 1 selling album for 2003 but lost the, “Best Rap Album,” Grammy award to, “Speakerboxx/The Love Below.” He clearly got robbed for best new artist that year, losing to Evanescense. 50’s second release, “The Massacre,” sold over a million records in four days and was the second best selling album for the year. The Massacre ended up losing, “Best Rap Album,” to Kanye’s, “Late Registration.”
Does 50 Cent have a point or competition has just been too tough for him to win a Grammy award?
