Joell Ortiz dropped from Aftermath/interscope

Dr. Dre’s current project Bishop Lamont confirms joel ortiz being dropped and attempts to explain the situation. Its one thing to get dropped, but it must be painful to hear about it as a rumor before getting official word. Joell promises his fans an album this year.

  6. Chulo Says:

i never saw joel as a aftermath artist at all because dre is about that west coast music ya dig.

As far as Joel goes I would love to see him get down with Fat Joe, Terror Squad, the whole Cool n Dre, Rick Ross and Flo Rida movement, but thats on them,

I dont think its any bad feelings at all, but dr dre has not been treating his artists good at all! from eve, to dre, to busta, to the game, damn what artist has dre helped latelt,

dre got rich and he aint got the heart for it no more, he isnt hungry anymore,

as i said before i never saw joel and dr dre’s collaborations as a good combination.

Dre has treated anybody signed to his label like garbage.

Joel Ortiz is gonna be aight. He has worked hard enough to establish a fan base. That’s all it takes is a good group of core fans and an artist can make it if he does it up right (independent). Everybody on here who thinks Aftermath/Interscope> made a mistake by droppin’ him just go by his new joint when it drops and give him the numbers to empower him in the industry. Simple as that.

Bishop Lamont broke it down beautifully…that’s why he will shine thru when he releases his new joint. His mixtapes already have major buzz worldwide. Caltroit is a classic. All of his mixtapes, which he gave away FREE online (I downloaded 3 of them that I still listen to) are better than most of the Hip Hop stuff I paid for last year.

um, Joell knew about it and probably even asked for it himself. He held up a paper reading something like “record contract release” in the Ups&Downs video, didn’t he?

Joel’s gonna be straight . i mean it would be beautiful if he was with DRE . I heard a rumor joe budden was signing with SHADY ! that would of gave aftermath the two most illest up and coming Mc’s out there , good look ( in my opinion ) But like he said he established a pretty solid fanbase . he from brooklyn , brooklyn ride for they own so you straight ba bro …i know niggaz on MYRTLE was bumping the brick niggaz out in brownville too . i just hate that it seems the nicer you are now the more shit you gotta go through . this probably how JAY-Z felt when nobody wanted to fuck with him and dash in the begining
