Bill Cosby is going to address the issues facing Black America on a new rap album entitled, “State Of Emergency.” Good idea or a waste of time?

Yo..WASTE OF TIME!!!!..rap is not the avenue for Bill Cosby to get whatever point he has across the black America. He would have a better chance if he slipped messages into pudding cups.
January 31st, 2008 at 1:39 pm

January 31st, 2008 at 2:06 pm
C’mon Billy, sit ya old ass down! You going after the situation in a very wrong way. Who goin listen to you?! besides Oprah??
Get outta hear. The message is good but the medium is f*cked up!
January 31st, 2008 at 2:06 pm
I honestly do not think Bill will be rapping on this album. He will most definatly be talking over a hip hop beat, like Cornel West did. And that shit was genius. Had Mos Def, Black Thought, Talib, etc. on it. That’s all Bill gotta do. Reach out to the hip hop voices that he agrees with. It’s not going to work, but God will bless the man for trying.

For anybody saying sit your old ass down, you do nothing but continue the cycle of separation of the generation. (Willie Lynchism) You dont have to agree or even be interested, but how you going to tell this educated black man to sit his ass down. Im sure in his life time he has done more positive things then anybody on here that got a problem with it. You aint got to like, love it, or care about it, but if you’re smart how are you going to completely discredit it. At least see what the older generations point of view is on our community. Were the only race that completely discredits our elderly, for their advice or point of view. Im not saying Im definately goin to cop it, but I have more respect then to tell him get the fuck outta here. Thats just a problem. HOw you not going to respect your elders?
January 31st, 2008 at 3:30 pm
I agree DOC CARTER… I feel sad for the future of the world not just hip hop… I try to respect opinions however the stuff I read from our youth on this site is sad… I was running wild back in the day but I always respected my elders.. That’s where I got my knowledge from and I am doing good in life.. You disrespectful youngans will never grow with that mentality. Trust me!!!

I think its an amazing idea for Bill Cosby to spread the word and knowledge that he did with his classic epic book, “Come On People.” Now, I seriously think that he could talk on the beat of Hip Hop like Dr. Cornel West did as a spoken artist.
I might download just to hear it, but also get the epic book, “Come On People: A Path For Victims To Victors.”
