I thought he got signed to Aftermath? I hope Dre aint dickin’ Joell around cause the kid is nice. The Bricks/Bodega Chronicles was serious. Joell is a problem. How come all the nice mc’s get jerked around with album releases?
Ortiz stay consistent. I hope Dre doesn’t do Joell like he did with Rakim and toys around with his album.. Dudes from that type of cloth he’s from needs mainstream exposure.
He doesn’t have to the best rapper out there just like you don’t have to be the best singer in order to be a mainstream star. What you need is HIT songs. He needs to get his hands of some really good beats. The production is even more important than your skills as a rapper.
