Soulja Boy, has just proven my theory. I honestly thought his last single was catchy but this was just garbage!!!

A. The average day music consumer is an idiot!!! Before music was purchased by people who valued it for its substance. Nowadays a consumer will purchase an album for very stupid reasons. The “Artists,” is affiliated with this rapper, has a good dance, pretends to be rich in every video, has some sort of fake background story which looks relatively gangster.

B. The marketplace is stagnant, when was the last time you heard of a new artist? I mean a new artist not another artist who is trying to emulate another artist. A artist who makes songs you wish your favorite artist thought of first. Why does every rapper claim to be a former drug dealer/killer, why does every rapper have to come from the same fucked up environment. Its talent out here, its just stuck trying to climb to the top of the ladder.

C. Music is subjective!!! That means what sounds good today may not sound god tomorrow, it also means what sounds good to you may not sound good to others. If anyone remembers there was a time that DMX, Lil Zane, Ashanti/Ja Rule, Master P, D4L, Franchise Boyz, 50 Cent etc and countless others were hot. These artist come and go but look at Curtis Mayfield, Denice Williams, Sam Cooke, Luther Vandross (Little Luther and Big Luther), Atlantic Starr, TuPac, OutKast, BIG… There will always be talent and good music as long as there are people there to rejuvenate and listen to it.

I’m a fan of GOOD MUSIC!!!, and a listener and critic of average songs.
