Murdered You On Your Own Sh*t II

Jay-Z’s 2001 album, The Blue Print, is home to a gem of a track called “The Renegades”. By far one of the most impressive songs from the album, it also features none other than Mr. Slim Shady himself, Eminem.
On the track, the Detroit emcee all but held his own against Jay, matching him bar for bar. Hip-hop enthusiasts have long argued that Em murked Jay on his own sh*t. Today is the day we put this discussion to rest.
Place your votes: Did Em murder Jay on his own sh*t?

but i guess we will see what happens on em’s new cd b/c jay is on that…
January 27th, 2008 at 6:37 pm
yo em got it hands down.
January 27th, 2008 at 6:38 pm
YES WITHOUT A DOUBT BUT WITH AN ADVANTAGE WHICH WAS THE PRODUCTION.
EMINEM PRODUCED THE BEAT SO HE HAD THE LITTLE EDGE OVER JAY-Z
IN THE END I WILL SAY EMINEM’S VERSE WERE WAY TOO STRONG FOR JAY-Z TO CHALLENGE……..
HOPE WE SEE A ROUND ON “KING MARTHERS”
Hanson from Nigeria
1st B****
January 27th, 2008 at 6:39 pm
this is close one…going to give it to eminem
January 27th, 2008 at 6:41 pm
u guys kiddin me??
“bet everythin ur worth, lose ur tie n ur shirt”
January 27th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
IF ANY SAYS THAT JAY-Z WON IS COMPLETELY A STAN.
EM MURDERED JAY FAIR AND SQUARE
January 27th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
jay got em all day, but ever sice wack ass nas said it everybody uses it freely now escpecially tha haters when we all know tha truth !!
January 27th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
ON ‘RENEGADE’,THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT EMIN3M DELIVERED A BETTER VERSE THAN JAY,PERIOD.
January 27th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Yea, white boy took jay to school with dat 1st verse alone.
January 27th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
ye that news was international, i was in jamaica and eminem definately dominated, he used a nariator style and also produced the beat, jay just didnt come with a deep enough concept to match ems.
January 27th, 2008 at 6:59 pm
em bodied him hands down
January 27th, 2008 at 6:59 pm
Em didn’t murder Jay on the track. He held his own. As man stans as Jay got he has haters. And they would love to see him get bruised up in a lyrical battale. Em is not the one to do it. He’s good but he ain’t all of that. He got one I call the Larry Bird syndrome he’s really good for a white boy but can he truly match up to the top dogs in the game. The great white hope is always going to be able to make the people believe that he’s better than he really is. If Em was black with the same rhyme style and skilss he would never have a deal.
Think about it.
January 27th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
em is still the best rapper right under jay z he also is a producer so he is a double threat like kanye i know jay can respect that
January 27th, 2008 at 7:21 pm
This topic really gets me mad,,,,,,nobody was saying shit about getting murder on their song intill nas said it on ether to diss jay……………reality is that nobody got nobody, the song had a good message about critics and what the media was saying about the both of them, jayz verse was about him and the media at the time and was alright, em verse had more to it, cause of all the stuff he was going thru at the time, so how can you compare thier verses? GOOD SONG
January 27th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
“ON ‘RENEGADE’,THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT EMIN3M DELIVERED A BETTER VERSE THAN JAY,PERIOD.
ON ‘RENEGADE’,THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT EMIN3M DELIVERED A BETTER VERSE THAN JAY,PERIOD.”
“em is still the best rapper right under jay z he also is a producer so he is a double threat like kanye i know jay can respect that”
EXACTLY……EM MURDERED JAY ON HIS OWN SHIT..WITHOUT A DOUBT!
January 27th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
em got him on that
January 27th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
That white boy is a def. problem. Without a doubt, Em murdered Jay on that track. I dare anyone to give it another listen, try and write down some of Em’s lyrics and see if you can attempt to recite the things he said. Matter fact google the lyrics to the song and see if I don’t have credibility in my claim.
January 27th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Yea, this song is disputed like the “who’s better- biggie or pac” and Nas made clear who he thought was better. Hip-hop needs more songs like this one.
January 27th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
“Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?”
if u break it down my opinion its just a hot song cuz both of them killed it.. just listen to it once more and really listen to jay n em…
January 27th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Don’t get it twisted…. Jay is still the best rapper alive. Let that never be forgotten
January 27th, 2008 at 7:33 pm
not a fan of either of their music like that and Em ran laps around Jay period…. Jay wasn’t coming back from that. Only two dudes are capable of murdering Jay on his own shit and that is Em and Nas point blank. Case is closed!!! don’tfront
January 27th, 2008 at 7:35 pm
1.jay murks em album for album
2.em was goin at the politicans
3.the whole blueprint is a hip hop classic
4.stop makin it seem like their goin against eachother
5. ems verse did murk jays verse on that track
6.too many ppl rape hip hop culture
7.em needs to make something new and GOOD
8.detox better be worth the wait

Jay-Z]
Motherfuckers -
say that I’m foolish I only talk about jewels (bling bling)
Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?
See I’m influenced by the ghetto you ruined
That same dude you gave nothin, I made somethin doin
what I do through and through and
I give you the news – with a twist it’s just his ghetto point-of-view
The renegade; you been afraid
I penetrate pop culture, bring ‘em a lot closer to the block where they
pop toasters and they live with their moms got drop roasters from botched robberies niggas crouched over
mommies knocked up cause she wasn’t wached over knocked down by some clown when child support knocked
no he’s not around tnow how that sound to ya, jot it down
I bring it through the ghetto without ridin ’round
hidin down duckin strays from frustrated youths stuck in they ways
Just read a magazine that fucked up my day
How you rate music that thugs with nothin relate to it i help them see their way through it – not you cant step in my pants cant walk in my shoes bet everything you worth you lose your tie and your shirt
[Eminem]
Since I’m in a position to talk to these kids and they listen
I ain’t no politician but I’ll kick it with ‘em a minute
Cause see they call me a menace; and if the shoe fits I’ll wear it
But if it don’t, then y’all’ll swallow the truth grin and bear it
Now who’s these king of these rude ludicrous lucrative lyrics
Who could inherit the title, put the youth in hysterics
Usin his music to steer it, sharin his views and his merits
But there’s a huge interference – they’re sayin you shouldn’t hear it
Maybe it’s hatred I spew, maybe it’s food for the spirit
Maybe it’s beautiful music I made for you to just cherish
But I’m debated disputed hated and viewed in America
as a motherfuckin drug addict – like you didn’t experiment?
Now now, that’s when you start to stare at who’s in the mirror
and see yourself as a kid again, and you get embarrased
And I got nothin to do but make you look stupid as parents
You fuckin do-gooders – too bad you couldn’t do good at marriage!
(Ha ha!) And do you have any clue what I had to do to get here I don’t
think you do so stay tuned and keep your ears glued to the stereo
Cause here we go – he’s {*Jigga joint Jigga-chk-Jigga*}
And I’m the sinister, Mr. Kiss-My-Ass it’s just a
[Chorus: Eminem + Jay-Z]
[Em] RENEGADE! Never been afraid to say
what’s on my mind at, any given time of day
Cause I’m a RENEGADE! Never been afraid to talk
about anything (ANYTHING) anything (ANYTHING), RENEGADE!
[Jay] Never been afraid to say
what’s on my mind at, any given time of day
Cause I’m a {RENEGADE} Never been afraid to holler
about anything {anything?} Anything {ANYTHING!}
[Jay-Z]
I had to hustle, my back to the wall, ashy knuckles
Pockets filled with a lot of lint, not a cent
Gotta vent, lot of innocent of lives lost on the project bench
Whatchu hollerin? Gotta pay rent, bring dollars in
By the bodega, iron under my coat, feelin braver
Doo-rag wrappin my waves up, pockets full of hope
Do not step to me – I’m awkward, I box leftier often
My pops left me an orphan, my momma wasn’t home
Could not stress to me I wasn’t grown; ’specially on nights
I brought somethin home to quiet the stomach rumblings
My demeanor – thirty years my senior
My childhood didn’t mean much, only raisin green up
Raisin my fingers to critics; raisin my head to the sky
Big I did it – multi before I die (nigga)
No lie, just know I chose my own fate
I drove by the fork in the road and went straight
[Eminem]
See I’m a poet to some, a regular modern day Shakespeare
Jesus Christ the King of these Latter Day Saints here
To shatter the picture in which of that as they paint me
as a monger of hate and Satan a scatter-brained atheist
But that ain’t the case, see it’s a matter of taste
We as a people decide if Shady’s as bad as they say he is
Or is he the latter – a gateway to escape?
Media scapegoat, who they can be mad at today
See it’s easy as cake, simple as whistlin Dixie
while I’m wavin the pistol at sixty Christians against me
Go to war with the Mormons, take a bath with the Catholics
in holy water – no wonder they try to hold me under longer
I’m a motherfuckin spiteful, DELIGHTFUL eyeful
The new Ice Cube – motherfuckers HATE to like you
What did I do? (huh?) I’m just a kid from the gutter
makin this butter off these bloodsuckers, cause I’m a muh’fuckin
cmon hov killed it
eminem produced the track, so he prolly spent a week writing his verse before hov came in and spit a verse in 5mins
give hovv a week and he’ll prolly come up wit some shit thatll leave u scratchin ur head thinkin wtf he talkin bout?
January 27th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
WORD UP 22#
January 27th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
i think this song is incredible, i think it was a tie. em went all out, but he is talkin about his life which has had a lot more adversty then jay. i think what hurt jay was that the flow of the song fit em’s style so well that it looks like he kills jay, but bar for bar i think its a tie.
January 27th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
out of a 82 game nba season I guess if the lakers play the bucks in LA and micheal redd scores 55 points and kobe scores 20 we should say micheal red murdered kobe at home?, and then start saying he is up there with kobe after one lucky ass game? This shit is stupid we should not compare kobe and micheal red, em should not even be in the same sentence as jay
January 27th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
i think they were honestly both dope
January 27th, 2008 at 7:52 pm
slim shadys best performance on anything he’s done
he knew he was gonna be wit the god emcee
January 27th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
Actually…it’s not Jay-Z’s “Own shit”…the song was originally Eminem and Royce’s…Jay heard the track and went back and added verses in place of Royce’s…so it’s not like they actually made this song together.
January 27th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
“Em is not the one to do it. He’s good but he ain’t all of that.”
YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT.EM ISN’T ALL THAT?HAVE YOU HEARD OF CANIBUS?IF NOT,THEN I NEED NOT BOTHER EXPLAINING WHY A BLACK RAPPER THAT WAS LITERALLY CROWNED THE GREATEST UNDERGROUND RAPPER OF THE 90′S,SAID E-M-I-N-3-M IS THE O-N-L-Y RAPPER THAT COULD MATCH HIM LYRICALLY.
THE PROBLEM WITH YOU YOUNGLINS IS YOU BELIEVE NO ONE IS LYRICALLY CAPABLE OF CHALLENGING JAY-Z,SMH,REMOVE JAY’S D!CK FROM YOUR MOUTH AND CLICK THE VIEW RESULTS BUTTON IN THE POLL ^
January 27th, 2008 at 8:00 pm
Both Em and Jay did their thing but I give Em the edge even though I’m not a fan of his.
January 27th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
“em should not even be in the same sentence as jay”
JAY-Z DEFENSE FORCE UNITE!
January 27th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
it really depends on how you listen to music! I am THE BIGEST JAY FAN EVER! but giving reference to ” Big and Pac battles” jay was Pac on this one! I related to him more! emotionally!
January 27th, 2008 at 8:07 pm

January 27th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
em had tha better verse but he didn’t kill jay….the definition of killin sum1 iz wut luda and jadakiss did 2 nas on made u look remix. jay’s verse was hot jus slightly less so than em’s
January 27th, 2008 at 8:35 pm
Eminem says some pretty slick stuff
January 27th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
this isnt even an argument for discussion…em’s verse was head n shoulders better…cmon…wat kind of jayz fans r u guys?…u dnt get paid 4 this
January 27th, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Some of these posts make no sense to me…
So what nas was the one who coined the phrase people repeat and use jigga lines all day up here as ammo…
Point is Em did perform better on the track no matter what excuses are made!!!
Either that or there will never be a clear cut decision cause biased people won’t face the facts!
January 27th, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Do your HW! The REAL deal is that Jay-Z did NOT get murdered on “his own” shit! This was Originally Eminem’s Song (Written/Produced) which featured Royce 5′9. Jay liked the song so Em took Royce’s verses off and gave it to him. Now Em did murder Jay, but on his own turf, Jay could have come a bit stronger maybe, but it would be pretty hard to outdo Em on this track EVEN TODAY!
January 27th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
@ 29 (Miami Int)… That make’s it even worse…lmao!
and (da source)… you are so reachin! I hope you’re on the Roc’s or Jiggaman’s pay roll!
January 27th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
DMF has the most sensible arguement based on what i heard (read)…
January 27th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
to all da idiots comparin albums.. 1st lemme say dese 2 r my top 5.. but anyways to da idiots comparin dese 2 albums.. EMINEM IS DA #2 ALL TIME RECORD SALES OF ALL TIME.. #2.. WHO DO U THINK IS NUMBA 1?? IF U DINT KNO DAT DEN U SHOULDN’T EVEN B TALKIN BOUT NONE OF DIS.. (btw pac is numba 1 not jayz 2 all da IDIOTS)
January 27th, 2008 at 8:59 pm
naa i thought that even before nas said ‘eminem murdered u on ur own shit.’ ppl think jus cuz eminem was white and mad popular on TRL that he wasnt a good rapper. eminem was a GREAT rapper/lyricist, he was jus more popular cuz he was white, thas the only difference. i honestly think hov did a good job on the record but i feel eminem had the better verse. theyre both top 5 so its all good 2 me.
January 27th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
lmao @ the people who try to kick knowledge…we all know it was originally a Em/Royce track..
Jay and Em…Best Rappers Alive!!!
January 27th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
ay off subject but why is peedi crakk clowin jayz for his new album “camel huntin season”
January 27th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
I inspired that song and even though the song is about me and people around me I dont care either way about which one getting murdered. Im more concerned with the affects this propagandist nonsense these fake rappers say bcause at the end of the day and core of the situation Im trapped in a shady business that has completely torn apart my family. A business thats full of fake decoy clone niggas tryin to live my lifestyle dreaming and living through me at the same time wishing I was dead, with Gangbanging FBI informants in the hood on every corner snitching and its really placing a huge burden on my family and also has elements of ethnic cleansing and rights violations btw. While M & M is inside his mansion spending his fortune and eating his doughnuts getting fat people out here are dying in a war here. I know that the FEDs will more than likely read this email on some COINTELPRO ish. If you have already then FBI you can suck my dic&. And The Good Shepard was an excellent movie BTW. And Rap sucks
January 27th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
@#12 – Shut up. That might be the biggest load of bullshit I’ve read on this site, and I’ve read some bullshit from commenters on here. Your post doesn’t even warrant an argument. Instead, I’ll just highlight it as so the stupidity doesn’t get buried and overlooked.
January 27th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
ofcourse em murked jay on dat em obviously had more to say about that particular topic from a personal point of view than jay-z
January 27th, 2008 at 9:09 pm
And Hillary Clinton you have a great ass
January 27th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
i love hov but i can’t front em’s verses was better than jay’s verses…i think it was probably because em did the beat so his words flowed better with the beat and jay was out of his comfort zone doing that type of record. but em absolutely murdered hov on his own shit…i’m a jay fan and i can admit that lol
January 27th, 2008 at 9:17 pm
and i agree with #48 “never been afraid to say whats on my mind at any given time of day” thats a topic that eminem can more relate to than jay because of all the controversy surrounding his lyrics at that time
January 27th, 2008 at 9:21 pm

Em won, but that song was built for him. Hov shouldn’t hav been on it. NAS had ‘ether’ but could never body Jay on the same track…not to date anyway.
January 27th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
its not a fair argument because the song was originally em and royce before em even ever showed jay the beat. eminem wrote the song way before jay got on it, so its not like he was featured and coming in to do a “guest” verse.
January 27th, 2008 at 9:51 pm
You guys suck
January 27th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
@ #53 (T lee) I have to words in respoinse to that… Black republican!
and for all the people crying I mean stating it was an Em/royce song 1st so what…Jigga should have put it on his album then plus he laid his verse later…smh!
January 27th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
I think its almost a tie, with em winning by very little…but i certainly have to say that those that say em should not even be in the same sentence as jay are simply haters…think about it, honestly…and then say why u think he is that bad…but please dont come here spittin nonsense without backing it up….hope they do a feat on king mathers
January 27th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
@45,
it’s ‘prolly because he finally realised his album is never coming out.
Dude been with the Roc for years yet he doesn’t even have a single out.
LOL!
January 27th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
Nah, I gotta admit, Esco was right, Em was better than me on that song…but look at me now, I got stronger after ether, Brooklyn!, love u B, young
January 27th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
LMAO! Y’all can’t be serious. Eminem got ‘em. Sorry. Him being white had nothing to do with what he put on his paper. This song is just proof that Jay should think about writing his raps. LOL. Timbaland made beats that him and Jay performed on on the Timbaland Magoo albums. He didnt top Jay. So Em making the beat had nothing to do with it. He’s just a better rapper/ artist. He’s witty, energetic, animated and superlyrical. Jay is boring. Sorry.
January 27th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
camel got bodied on that track, not even close
January 27th, 2008 at 10:50 pm
I’m not a fan of Em but I can say his last verse shitted on all the other verses.
January 27th, 2008 at 10:53 pm
#29 and my boy 2cents are absolutely correct. that was a em joint feat. royce…now, everyone should realize that writing to a song/beat is so much easier when you hear some1 else on it already. jay had an advantage in hearing em and royce on it and it def helped him murder that beat. still, em had the better versus…like it or not, jay lost that one…just stating the facts.
January 27th, 2008 at 10:59 pm
i already know this song, but i read the lyrics again and no doubt eminem killed the track. jayz verse is solid but its dull and repetitive. @56 no one really won on that track but it could of changed if nas spit the same amount of bars jay z did.
January 27th, 2008 at 11:18 pm
every track eminem featured on on he kills…that was a like battle cause verse they began 2 rap harder….. em will kill any rapper cause he is a far better lyrics.
January 27th, 2008 at 11:41 pm
@ foreal
i can see your point, in my eyes though its quality over quanity and if Nas matched j’s effort in less bars then that mean he had the better showing!
Smh @ myself…lol but this is a better analogy…
If jay scored 50 and nas dropped 48 in 1 game vs. each other but Jay shot 16-39 and Nas shot 20-22 who really had the better game?
January 28th, 2008 at 12:01 am
everybody know em killed that track who doesn’t know that is dumb and im a big jay fan
January 28th, 2008 at 12:03 am
I’m not a fan of either one, but Em takes this one…no doubt.
January 28th, 2008 at 12:36 am
FLow wise and riding the beat wise em def got it but in terms of bar by bar lyrical content jay def got that he dead ass spoke true niggas on the corner shit and if you dont think so you never stood on the corner when niggas was beefin wit the iron waitin for the drama to start
January 28th, 2008 at 1:49 am
honestly they both ripped it
but jayz verse kinda hit me harder, u know it was a lil more personal a lil more familiar. like i feel u 4real
emenim was hot too
my thing is i think that em made the beat and had the track already laid down long b4 jayz even got it. u know niggas will lay down a verse and fedex that shit then whenever u ready u lay your verse a press it for the album. i believe em had the beat and verse maybe months b4 jayz ever heard it, jay got it and rapped on the lyrical flow eminem set for the song.
not making excuses just my opinion
“pockets filled wit alot of lint, not a cent, gotta vent, lotta innocent lives lost on that project bench, what u hollering gotta pay rent bring dollars in”
sorry that shit just touch me a lil more than em’s verse
January 28th, 2008 at 2:17 am
Im Down Wit Hov As Well As The Next Nig But Em Fuckin Shredded Him
January 28th, 2008 at 2:25 am
The song originally was Royce da 5′9″ and Em before they had their fallout, and Royce had sick verses too
Em still kills Royce and Jay
January 28th, 2008 at 2:35 am
I’m waitin for someone to rig the poll! I can’t believe the results…lmao!
realtalk might actually get an answer, as a jogga fan though I doubt he’ll (assumin he is male) accept it.
January 28th, 2008 at 2:50 am
em of course but jay is still jay.so what the fuck?
January 28th, 2008 at 3:40 am
Com’on..its a dope song but em gets th edge coz its flows bettter 2 his ryhme than jay..
n by the way y r some clowns hatin on em bcoz his white!!
lets just accept the fact that he is a great rappper n prolly among the best but we just keep hating coz his white.
tight song though!!1
January 28th, 2008 at 5:18 am
encore disc 1, track is never enough, em – “i can give a fuck what category you place me, as long as when i am gone and pushing up daisies, as long as u place me as one of your most wanted greats, when i hit the heavenly gates i’ll be cool beside jay z”
January 28th, 2008 at 5:48 am
i mean if u look at the lyrics on paper…jay got substance…so did em
but as far as flow…matching the beat, and catching ur ear
em did it so crazy.
thats all i gotta say. it was crazy. memorable.
his voice matched the beat.
period.
January 28th, 2008 at 6:27 am
yall muthafucker are nutz, jay was on him
even Em say that, dont get me wrong Em came hard as fuck on this shit his hook was too stupid. but Em bodying hov, com eon now beeesss real wit chu boi 1 time
January 28th, 2008 at 6:57 am
We can argue the content of their verses forever……
To me, what seperated Em from Jay on this monumental track was Em’s flow. The way he glided on the beat and kept spitting when a normal human being is supposed to be taking a breath was unbelievable.
His wordplay and how he switches each line up to flow in a constant rythym and motion is what puts Em in the drivers seat.
January 28th, 2008 at 7:22 am
its not even possible to compare the verses they both came off hard but from different perspectives I had to hustle, my back to the wall, ashy knuckles
Pockets filled with a lot of lint, not a cent
Gotta vent, lot of innocent lives lost on the project bench
Whatchu hollerin? Gotta pay rent, bring dollars in” Jay-Z
“See I’m a poet to some, a regular modern day Shakespeare
Jesus Christ the King of these Latter Day Saints here
To shatter the picture in which of that as they paint me
as a monger of hate and Satan a scatter-brained atheist” Eminem how the fuck can yall compare that
January 28th, 2008 at 7:30 am
Jay got Murked…
January 28th, 2008 at 7:48 am
Em murderrrrrrrrrd That like it waz 50 on INC you dig?
January 28th, 2008 at 7:59 am
ONLY REASON EVERYBODY SAY EM BODIED JAY CAUSE NAS SAID. EM DID HAVE THE BETTER VERSE BUT NIGGAS ACT LIKE JAY AINT GO HARD 2. LIKE YOULL MUTHERFUCKERS JUST SKIPED THROUGH HIS VERSE TO HERE EMS JOINTS
January 28th, 2008 at 8:24 am
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
AND! the truth is the trut (a) and (b) for all the jay quote regurgitated here its bout time someone spit up some fresh sh!t!
p.s. I’ll say it differently…he killed jay on that track and thats what I said when I 1st heard it!

EMINEM KILLED JAY ON THAT SONG!!! HANDS DOWN!! YOU COULD ASK MILLION PEOPLE ABOUT THAT SONG AND ABOUT 90% OF THE PEOPLE THAT KNOW ABOUT MUSIC AND LISTEN TO LYRICS, AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT EM MURKED JAY!!!
EMINEMS FLOW IS MUCH BETTER THAN JAYS TOO. EM IS THE BEST RAPPER LYRICALLY. NO ONE COULD TOUCH HIM, I DON’T CARE IF HE IS WHITE, BLACK, RED, OR ORANGE!!!!! NO MATTER PEOPLE SAY ABOUT EM PRODUCING THE SONG, IT WAS STILL ON JAYS ALBUM NOT EMS SO ITS JAY SONG NOT EMINEMS. AND IF JAY WAS SO GOOD IT WOULDN’T MATTER HOW LONG IT TOOK HIM TO DO THIS SONG SINCE HE DOESN’T WRITE ANYWAY!
January 28th, 2008 at 9:22 am
yall niggas always trying to get something going, yall like a bunch of bitches.why is everything competition, why couldn’t this just be a classic song, cause both of them were spitting fire.
January 28th, 2008 at 9:36 am
why?
1. Why does it matter who murked who it is a jumpin’ song.
2. Why do we perpetuate beef within the hip hop world?
3. why do the new kids think that ring tone artist compare to the real lyrical genuises?
4. Why is there so much hate in the young rappers blood?
5. Why is every one so mad at Jay Z?
6. Why to the old school rapper think that he doesn’t have to put out hits any more that his reputation alone should get them record sells?
7. Why are we comparing Em and Jay Z period on this old ass song?
8. Why can’t the record industry get their shit together and stop putting out bullshit?
9. Why are these fools out here living out the fantasies they write about in their songs?
January 28th, 2008 at 9:48 am
He bodied him without Trying. Personally i think the ORIGINAL “Renegades” was the ish. Even Royce verses Bodied Jays verses.
January 28th, 2008 at 9:58 am
Since when did this become a battle? They was not going at each other on the track, Em’s verse was tight, but Micheal Jordan has a off day sometimes, I mean come on if you was putting your money on them in a battle…Jay all day!!
January 28th, 2008 at 10:40 am
eminem killed jayz on dis shit, cassidy killed jay z on cold as ice, and jay z killed t.i on whatch what you say to me
January 28th, 2008 at 10:55 am
why peoples thinking that Jay didn’t get sonned on a track? Jay is a top 10 regardless but still Jay got murked on his own shit. It happens to alot of dudes getting murked on their own albums… Em is a better lyricst than Jay in my opinion period…
January 28th, 2008 at 11:20 am
I personally think that Jay-Z killed the track, he talked about things you could relate to help you understand what he was going thru…Em just used a whole bunch big words put it together on another level, which he murdered it too…plus even Em said Jay killed that track, so it dont matter what we think, if Em said it himself…boy!!
January 28th, 2008 at 11:50 am
em is the number emcee of all time period and if anyone disagree’s can eat my cock
January 28th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yoo The Track was Orignally Eminem and Royce the 5′9. Jay-Z heard the track, and asked Eminem if he could get it, and of coarse who the hell turns down HOV……
Eminem Remastered his lyrics cause he knew he was going to have to come hard or go home f**kin wit Big Homie….
Wit That Being Said….Bar For Bar…JAY GOT IT
January 28th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Em produced the track…blah blah blah…..
Jay did his verse in 5 mins..blah blah blah…
Stop makin excuses…end of the day…Jay got bodied
Don’t get me wrong…I’m a huge Hova fan..he is the best rapper alive..prolly even the G.O.A.T.
Jay said that he finds victory..even in defeat…and the Blueprint was critically acclaimed…..nuff said
Call a spade a spade…Em murdered Jay on his own sh!t
January 28th, 2008 at 12:34 pm
why are niggas getting offended?
this was pretty much an Em song with Jay featuring on it. Em IS the Renegade out of the 2 so i felt like he vibed with the track more. whatever the circumstances are Em had the better verse, point blank period. Jay has been guilty of murder or numerous occasions just in this case, he was working with someone just as great lyrically, if not, better but that depends on who you talk to.
January 28th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
word shout out to number #22,breaking down for these idiots….Jay murdered that shit,NEGRO PLEASE!!!!!!!
January 28th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
word shout out to number #22,breaking down for these idiots….Jay murdered that shit,NEGRO PLEASE!!!!!!!& oh numbe94 ur right that was a Royce track& Em did hiw shit over,he knew what it was…
January 28th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
my bad meant to say his shit over
January 28th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
….and the winner is EM…
January 28th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
CLASSIC TRACK ON A CLASSIC ALBUM DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHOS VERSE WAS BETTER…DAMN I WISH HIP HOP WAS LIKE IT WAS IN 2001 DOES NE1 AGREE WIT ME
January 28th, 2008 at 6:13 pm

Em murdered no one, Em spit his lines and it was nice dont get me wrong, but to say that he murdered Jay, c’mon now. If anything it was a tie. But to say Jay got murdered on his own shit, Hell Naw ! I didn’t know that this song was a battle.Em murdered the song, but not Jay.
Em was nice though, I give credit were credit is due. But not better then the king, close though.
January 28th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
EM did his verse back in the days on the original RENEGADES with ROYCE..JAY threw a new verse ..JAY had EM’s blueprint..Imagine if EM would of be able to listen to JAY verse first and then write his shit..JAY wouldn’t of even came close

Yo yo, it’s several different levels to pickin up shovels
and dumpin you in ditches under sea level
Frontin you when I’m wit this
Let me refreshin you niggaz til you my position in this
Beef! – Leavin you under Venice, opposition finished!
There it is, we invaded created a Pyramid -
of a Haven of names, so blame Dre, and that ear of his
So {*heavy breathing*} breathe, I’d rather REACH for your neck
And I never HEAT you for respect, unless you GREET me wit less
I got a skunk, in my trunk
I’m lyin, I got a pump in my trunk
Your dyin, how many lumps niggaz want?
Who’s ready for y’all? We ready for y’all
We too incredibly raw, for any artist that said he would draw
I stand firm, and it hurts to live it
You open that can of worms, I hope you ready for the dirt that’s wit it
Slap a hoe, snatch a mic!
Bein brought to y’all in black and in white
(IT’S the NEW!) Joe Jackson and Ike, we renegades
Cause here we go – he’s Royce, he’s the King Of Detroit
And I’m the sinister, Mr. Kiss-My-Ass it’s just the
[Chorus: Eminem + Royce]
[Em] RENEGADE! Never been afraid to say
what’s on my mind at, any given time of day
Cause I’m a RENEGADE! Never been afraid to talk
about anything (ANYTHING) anything (ANYTHING), RENEGADE!
[R9] RENEGADE! Never been afraid to say
what’s on my mind at, any given time of day
Cause I’m a RENEGADE! Never been afraid to talk
about anything (ANYTHING) anything (ANYTHING)
[Royce Da 5'9]
I determine what time it’s on, I call my nigga Proof
Hand him a pint of Limon and turn him loose!
I’m tired of you new jacks
I’m tired of niggaz that’s like – “I’m bout to blow!”
Unless you a bitch, we dont care if you bout do that
Move back, youngster, the glock on speak
Chew up your vest and turn your chest hair to taco meat!
The street, continuous to pit, quick to smash ya
or flash the clip, or give you the picture (developin)
Click clock, six shots blows through another door
And it gets hot, Hip Hop portable tug of war
Who did ya niggaz beats you bitches, who made it work?
Dat shit was *phwrt!*, I got harder 2-Way alerts
Just when I thought my dogg couldn’t get any meaner
You talk about his daughter, you probably gettin the heater
You talk about his momma, he won’t even give ya the finger
(He’s crazy!) Deranged!, not media eaters, we renegades
[Jay-Z]
Motherfuckers -
say that I’m foolish I only talk about jewels (bling bling)
Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?
See I’m influenced by the ghetto you ruined
That same dude you gave nothin’, I made somethin doin’
what I do through and through and
I give you the news – with a twist it’s just his ghetto point-of-view
The renegade; you been afraid
I penetrate pop culture, bring ‘em a lot closer to the block where they
pop toasters, and they live with they moms
Got dropped roasters, from botched robberies niggaz crotched over
Mommy’s knocked up cause she wasn’t watched over
Knocked down by some clown when child support knocked
No he’s not around – now how that sound to ya, jot it down
I bring it through the ghetto without ridin ’round
hidin down duckin strays from frustrated youths stuck in they ways
Just read a magazine that fucked up my day
How you rate music that thugs with nothin relate to it?
I help them see they way through it – not you
Can’t step in my pants, can’t walk in my shoes
Bet everything you worth; you lose your tie and your shirt
[Eminem]
Since I’m in a position to talk to these kids and they listen
I ain’t no politician but I’ll kick it with ‘em a minute
Cause see they call me a menace; and if the shoe fits I’ll wear it

Doo-rag wrappin my waves up, pockets full of hope
Do not step to me – I’m awkward, I box leftier often
My pops left me an orphan, my momma wasn’t home
Could not stress to me I wasn’t grown; ’specially on nights
I brought somethin home to quiet the stomach rumblings
My demeanor – thirty years my senior
My childhood didn’t mean much, only raisin green up
Raisin’ my fingers to critics; raisin’ my head to the sky
BIG I did it – multi before I die (nigga)

WHERE DID EM CHANGE HIS VERSE???
January 28th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
For true hiphop fans they know that the song ORIGINALLY belong to eminem with royce 5′ 9″ featured in it. But since em and royce fell out, em GAVE the song to jay. But no matter what royce killed both of them and em a close second, but the beat does favor em.
January 29th, 2008 at 1:59 am

January 29th, 2008 at 12:20 pm
Culture you are stupid for saying that EM was mumbling…if you really listen hes talking about how the media was using him as a scapegoat like they be doing Brittney Spears now…Jay talked about his life in the hood, Em talked about his life too and killed it…Plus this song was originally recorded by Eminem and Royce 59, and em had already laid his part and everything and still killed Jay…Im sorry…I love Jay but…Im sorry…

dis is like da biggie and 2pac argument we can be hear all day but da question is do u like the artist with the flow and fanz(jay-z/biggie) or do u like the cold stone lyricist (eminem/2pac)
