It is the best move for everybody they aint happy at the ROC so it is time for them to move on. Peedi said he been there for 10 years and he aint do nothing and you cant only blame Hov because Dame was there for half of those years and he had more faith in Dipset he did more for them than he did for State Property apart from Freeway and Beans.

They need to be thanking Jay Z for letting them go. Major labels are death sentences to fringe artists these days so the best way is to go indie and/or digital. Hope they saved some of that label $ to invest in themselves.

Free wanted to sign w/g-unit ever since forever and beans well he back in jail HA! The ROC cant die because Tru and Murda have to drop, ya’ll heard jay a new dynasty album comin out in March. Dont believe the hype, i think it’s time we realize that beans and free lack hype and personality, at least the kind that is needed to breakthrough today’s hip hop and mainstream world. I think Peedi got released and maybe a couple other people but Kanye and Bleek are still there for sure its no way he let them go. Peedi is right about the music business its not a whole of money out there for marketing and promotion these days, if you cant sell a ringtone, your not really going to get a marketing and promotion push. I know people will say Jay-Z promotes himself but he does not spend hardly any money on promotion most of the people doing the promotion come to him for free. I think he could have handled some artists careers better but I think if you cant produce a hit record then your going to get dropped from your label unless your on Koch. Think about even 50 didnt really sell like he normally does and he had mega promotion with Kanye. Alot of these rappers have to understand if your on a Major and you do 50,000 your first week thats a failure, now is it the artist fault because they didnt get promoted yes and no because that if that single doesnt pop its over and its the artist that makes the records. Its almost a situation where an artist like soulja boy is going to be the standard for hip hop and some of the most great lyrical cats are going to working at Mcdonalds and cant get a deal (joelle ortiz). The worst thing that has ever happened to hip hop is downloading. Think about how many records people like freeway or beanie would have sold if people didnt download. I mean some of it is Jay-Z’s fault but the music business isnt the same as it use to be. Nelly has sold over 15 million album and he dropped a single months ago ask him where his album is?

Why it sounds funny to me:
1) Sparks and Oschino (w/e) aren’t even on the label anymore, have been off for a while now.
2) One second he says they all got dropped, the next he’s not sure who got dropped, the next he says they kept one artist (& why wouldn’t he say who it was).
3) And he’s saying the A&R told “we/us”…who were the other artists in the room with him?
If this turns out to be false, it’ll be hilarious that peedi went this far to get back at dude.

damn can’t front heard that interview, if it’s true and that’ what went down, he should a at least talk to his people on some camrederie shit like dog i’m a half to drop you and the other Philly cats. instead it was business but they suppose to be the “Roc Boys in the building”.professionally it was handled with an A and R going to Philly, but if you was cool with all them Beanie and Free and them at least talk to your team as your friends. they really got treated like a product but I guess it’s handling your BI.I could see Peedi ventin like that not even hatin. dude stayed with the Roc,waited long to drop an album on the Roc and dude wasn’t even in the Roc Boys video with the Roc.I’m a fan of Jay and S.Dot as a businessman but I disagree on how this was handled.
