JON HOPE BIO:
Many critics suggest that “Hip-Hop is dead” due to the new artists’ lack of originality and substance. With everyone focused on ring tones and publicity rap beefs, one could only ‘hope’ for a change for the better. Look no further than lyrical savior, Jon Hope, whose inspiring words and delicate flow serve as food for thought to Hip-Hop fans alike. Jon Hope was born in Providence, Rhode Island, a city not known for its Hip-Hop scene. However, his skills have caught the eyes of many as he has been featured in some of the music industry’s most distinguished publications.

He debuted in 2006 with the single Breathin produced by Taktix, which helped him establish a reputation on the underground scene. Capitalizing off this amplified buzz, Jon Hope released his mixtape To Whom It May Concern which moved over 2500 units independently. The project received rave reviews and thus cultivated a loyal fan base that spanned worldwide. With the hype constantly growing, Jon Hope has performed throughout the country; sharing the stage with Hip-Hop elites such as Nas, Mobb Deep, and the legendary Rakim. He also worked with G.O.O.D. Music producer Devo Springsteen, who is noted for his work with Common and Kanye West. Hope laments “I bring a different perspective to the game since I’m not coming from a big city like L.A. or N.Y.; this I hope inspires those who are afraid to rep where they’ are from and still be themselves.” It’s only a matter of time before the masses witness the audacity of Jon Hope, who is currently in the studio working on his debut offering titled Caf? Society.

I think yall should be happy that you got a rapper that looks like yall. all you cats talkin about he look like a nerd, chances are when you get dressed in the morning, your tryin to look like somebody else. he took some candid natural shots with no special photographers or make up. And he sounds nothing like kanye or lupe or none of them. he’s sort of on a lil brother tip with a lil more commercial appeal but he aint even tryin to be commercial, his ish is just appealing. i think he’s a dope lyricist. his beats aint club beats, theyre “nod ya head and vibe” beats. i miss that in hiphop. so all yall ni99as with your funny looking colorful sweaters, rockin sunglasses in a dark club, using wave kits on your hair, and using your lil brothers too brush on your sneakers…..eat a bag of baby dicks, mothaphucka.
I’m co-signing John Hope and anybody bringing that pre-2000 sound back to hiphop.
it was cool, cant knock it.
da guy’s gt sumting goin
I read all you saying how this dude sounds dumb… trying to act gangsta…. Why don’t you actually stop to listen to the music. I know for a fact this kid is better educated than most and he has worked his ass of to get where he is. He deserves this shine and I wish him the best. Go for your Jon…. RI is behind you….
I mean this is America after all and people are entitled to their own opinions. What kills me is how some of the people hint towards “oh he ain’t a thug, he’s a square?!” I mean the brother is just trying to make good music and depict his experiences through words, personally I think he has alot of talent which manifested through his music. I mean c’mon now we live in a time where its cool to glorify the same corny “fly boy ish” I mean I am not knocking the state of hip hop because thus far its become a multi billion dollar business. Its rare to see someone who speaks with such clarity and defiance and I mean if its wrong to be educated then I don’t wanna be right. To me good music is good music point blank. If you read this Jon Hope my dude keep on moving forward and let the hate motivate your strive for success after all this is Life.
