Video: Nas feat. Busta Rhymes Live in NYC(StreetKnowledge Exclusive)

Street Knowledge

Street Knowledge/Cheap Thrills Prods. was in the house to capture Nas live and in rare form at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. The show presented by Live Nation and produced a sold-out and eager crowd, to see their favorite M.C. God’s Son aka Nas. After a warm-up performance by DJ Mister Cee and introduction by Funk Master Flex, Nas came out to the sounds blaring through the sound system of Marley Maul and was warmly greeted by his loyal fans. Nas started the show with the classic cut ” New York State of Mind” and continued to run through his catalog from the beginning of his career to his most recent album Hip hop is Dead. Briefly speaking on his most anticipated album to date, the still to be released “Nigger”, Nas promised the hip hop faithful that the album would be packed with thoughtful and controversial themes and that the title had mainstream Americas’s “panties in a bunch”.

NAS IS NOT THE GOAT. BEING THE GOAT ENCOMPASSES MANY THINGS: THE ABILITY TO TELL STORIES, INTROSPECTIVENESS, FREESTYLING, SWAGGER, MANY FLOWS, CADENCES, STAYING RELEVANT, TOUCHING OLD AND NEW GENERATIONS, GIFT OF GAB, BRANDING, INNOVATION AND OTHER STUFF TH

I love hip-hop but its got to a point where I ??stion the swearing, is it necessary to be F**k, Mother this that, w*$res. Personally I feel the reason hip-hop dont sell for most artists comes down to foul language. And on another note as for Nas calling his album N***ger, that shows how ignorant he his not “Brave” but a fool.

  4. LA Says:

#2 nas does not have all that?
#3 he is trying to take on racism his own way. at lease he is trying, not like these other rappers just trying to make a buck. i respect him because with the title NIGGER alone he is willing to risk his career. he is trying to knock down walls

  5. Goose Says:

to #3. Foul language is a part of american culture. Its in the books you read, the movies you watch, the music.
How is him calling his album N***ger ignorant. Dick gregory named his autobiography N***ger back in like 1964. Cornell West has a book entitled Ni**er . Richard Pryor has an album called That N***er’s Crazy. None of these caught as much as flack as nas is getting. Its not a new concept.

  6. T2 Says:

nas is a legend he is atleast top 5. He isnt the greatest bcus I dont think he has been consistant enough and who knows what would of happend without the takeover diss would nas of faded away like alot of others that came out in his era bcus he wasnt really doing much before that.

In the 30 years that Hip Hop’s been around you just now realize there’s “dirty language”. Learn the history of Rap before making inane commentary

What?! Everything you named, Nas embodies. Have you ever heard “One Love”, “Shootouts” or “The Set-Up”? (Storytelling) Have you seen “If I Ruled The World” or “Hate Me Now” videos? Have you heard all of his albums? None of them sound alike. His flows are different on every song. Illmatic and It Was Written (Both Innovative). Remember who started that Mafioso sh** (Escobar). B.I.G. even followed suit (Frank White). He touch old and new generations (Bridging The Gap, One Mic, If I Ruled The World or Can’t Forget About You). He’s been signed since ‘92, and he’s still one of the most talked about rappers alive. So what the f**k are you talkin about?

  11. Hip Hop Says:

“If I Ruled The World” and “Hate Me Now” exhibits his swagger. He done went against G Unit and Dipset at the same time, and remains untouched physically and lyrically. He done smashed Hov. After he dissed Jay, Hov hasn’t been the same since. He still can’t recooperate from “Ether”.

    ‘Nuff said.

  13. Stand Up Says:

Nas’s “I GAVE YOU POWER” = one of he best story telling rap songs there are. STIZ Nas embodies everything you said apart from consistency, that is Nas’s only weak point. Consistency.

  14. vj Says:

busta is right nas is the best! Busta thats my baby!

  17. Stand Up Says:

YO, If you want to hear Nas tell a story, Look for the song “undying Love” on youtube. The nigga has story telling classics.

  18. slim Says:

To #5, its fine you have done your research on what, for example Richard Pryor called his album. I thought at some point he realised it was a mistake when he visited prison. He made a huge mistake by using the N word. The link is
