I got Love For Cassidy….but i kinda hesitated today when i bought Hov shit from best buy and i seen cassidy shit there too for $9.99 and im like Hmmm…I had to think hard….but after seeing this interview and hearing his track “Innocent” i just MIGHT cop im still thinkin but the reason why he aint he gon sale is because it’s about hype and buzz now a days let’s face it…Drink and my two step is an okay single but he needed to come back SUPER!! I feel people kiinda turn they ear off to cassidy after he got locked up and all that it’s weird but i dont kno…He even drop a mixtape like 4 months ago and nobody was on it ….i aint hear niggaz talkin like yo dat new cass is fire..and he was goin in on dat shit dat “get retarded freestyle was crazy!” ballin freestlye!…And dat shit on da mike jones beat!….it’s like niggaz aint fuckin wit ‘em no more….and honestly i heard some his snippets and it sound like the same cass..talkin out clappin shit and how he beat his case and how he grind all the time….like he aint really supa dupa star material he could spit but he dont appeal to nobody….I bought hte last two cassidy cd’s real copy

Let’s be for real Hov is never going to have the Magic he had before he retired. But he still makes good music to me. Cassidy is a good rapper but he hasn’t put out any classics. The truth is if Jay wants to go as hard as he used to all he has to do is have songs where he packs so much into his lyrics that we can’t possibly understand what he’s talking about till you hear the song 10 times. Even he said during an interview before performing that his reasonable doubt songs are so lyrical that he had to learn the words all over again, but thats what we crave, smart, intelligent, art.

People will blame labels but it is a simple fact you gotta give the labels what they want for them to support your project they aint gon spend any time or money promoting an artist that the label feel is not giving them what they asked for. The rappers need to start taking there music more serious and not just think about the money cus they may sign to the label just cus the contract looks good but they must consider, is the label gonna support the type of music I be putting out, or do they want me to change my whole style just to suit them.

People need to stop looking for Jay to match his “greatest”. As long as Jay’s still giving us “great” music, what he achieved in the past is just that – the past. Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella/IDJ album American Gangster, his tribute to the Ridley Scott movie of the same name about legendary Harlem dope dealer Frank Lucas with an Oscar-worthy performance by Denzel Washington, looks like a pretty good shot to take the #1 spot on next week’s HITS Top 50.
According to retailers left around this great country of ours, he’s on track to sell between 400-450k. Judging how the Eagles do in their second week—and they will be performing on ABC’s nationally televised Country Music Awards tonight, so you never know—will determine next week’s #1.
Barry Weiss’ Team Jive continues its hot streak with the new Chris Brown album, Exclusive, with the smash single, “Kiss Kiss,” which appears headed for at the very least the Top Three and maybe even higher with between 300-350k.
The independently distribbed Garth Brooks album Ultimate Hits on Scott Borchetta’s Pearl Records imprint looks like it will do between 200-250k, though the CMAs could boost that number significantly.
