The story is so deep that everything feeds into the destruction. Politics, history….everything. There are some who just want the life portrayed in movies like Scarface and some who just grew up admiring the Don before him. There are not many options available. Jamaica is primarily known for tourism based income where money is made from hotel visit to Sunplash events where you can make money doing hair, selling clothes, or even peanuts. Unlike the US and Canada where there are many outlets to make income from call centers to movie extra. The health system is horrible and many drop out of school because there is little to aspire to be. Truth is that if you don’t have family ah foreign and your born in Jamaica it’s hard as hell fi get out. You have to either pray your parents have money to send you to school and try to get a student visa. The Us and Canada aren’t quick to accept Jamaicans into the country even if you don’t have a criminal record.

With that said your broke, bored, young dumb and full of cum. You want the good life and you want your people to have that too. However there is always going to be some motherfu*ker you don’t get along with and if your the man that dude is either another Don or close with the Don. Someone crosses a line shot lick out someone dies and the wheel keeps rolling. The government doesn’t care as long as your keep it in your area and of course you both work together cause they allow you to get your guns in for money. I watched this documentary when it was first released cause i live in london and it really hit me hard. I was shocked at the amount of viloence that takes place in Kingston. I mean, 1 killing every six hours. Its sad because when people think of jamaica, they think of the lovely beaches and stuff but that aint what it is all about. Innocent lives being taken daily just because of gang wars. But to these gangstas this is the only life they know and most of them dont live up to the age of 25. It hurts just to think about it.
