The site looks good the way it is… the layout is great, we don’t need any extra shit thats gonna slow down page’s download. There’s alot of good books out there, maybe you can have a book review section, old and new, autobiagraphies and all that… i just finished reading Malcolm X, and i’m 27 years old, i know 85% of these dudes who make comments on these site have never touched M-X, but if a website like this was promoting books, maybe you’ll get a couple of these cats to read more. I’m not talking about Superhead books neither…

i like the site, its the best hands down.
i would like to see the daily updates come up earlier in the day, on a regular basis whenever possible, but hell i know how it can be so im not really trippin. im usually at work when blogging so i just want updates when i come in.
the way the comments are viewed are the best ive seen, maybe we can add pics when we register so they will be displayed with our comments. and ill be hitting you up so i can get a job!!!

I think you should have voting polls. To get peoples views on here about hip hop etc. For example a vote on best artist of the year, an shit like that.

your site is good, however the comments aren’t as engaging as other blogs. i don’t know what the difference is when the stories appear to be the same, but part of the excitement of a blog is the comments and your site for whatever doesn’t evoke alot of responses, it may be the design of your site…sometime the format and the visualization can spark something in ppl Good Luck!

btw, i also agree with ‘queen’ – i used to comment on topics all the time, but ever since about april or may, your site has been taken over by these ignorant fools who dont do anything but scream FIRST or explain why 50 is more gangster than Kanye
I think if you changed up the design of the site, rather than the layout, you’d be able to attract a more comment-worthy crowd
check out smokingsection.net – their updates arent nearly as good as yours, but their comments blow this site’s (current) comments out the water…the design of smokingsection.net gives off more of a mellow, laid back, clean atmosphere whereas RTNY gives off more of an aggressive, dark, shoot-em-up vibe…
try using kuler.adobe.com to find a nice color scheme
i dont want to knock the site, i just want to help you make it better…for all the time you put into updating this site, you definately deserve a better design

I’d say maybe even limit the amount of posts you put out per day. As much as quantity is great, sometimes quality is even better. In the past few months, I have gone to nahright.com and smartenupnas.com more than here since they limit themselves on posting.

i could not co-sign more with #10 and #17. the biggest problem this site has is the people who comment. the whole vibe of the site gets beat down when you go to the comments to have an engaging conversation about a topic, be it funny or serious, and the only thing people can say is “FIRST!!!!!!!” or call someone a fag for not agreeing with their point of view.
not only that but the site is pretty sexist. i thought this was a hip hop blog….women listen to hip hop too but this site clearly caters to the male audience. you’ll never be as big as some other blogs if you exclude an entire gender. maybe this isn’t your intention but it’s definitely felt by many women who attempt to visit this blog.
besides that, i can’t knock your hustle.

i’d say ur site is fine graphically. ur doing great, everything is fine as it is, i guess thats why u’ve been succesful so far.theres no need to make any drastic changes.only improvements id suggest would be to maybe make it easier to view old posts and to search for certain artists like someonelse mentioned, but even thats not a big deal.keep up the good work

In my opinion, the comments section of the site are great, except as someone else mentioned, it could use a picture along with the comment. Also, you can add an option to go to other pages from the top of the page as well as the bottom, so viewers won’t have to scroll all the way down the page just to get to the next page.

One thing you should leave like it is, are the colors. Red, gray and black looks good. Your already doing a great job, so it can’t get worse. But one thing that i have a problem with is when I want to search for something. Let’s say I want to search on something that happend last week on realtalk, the search results are weird and stuff I didn’t write comes up. Most of the times I don’t find what I searchd for. But this is the best hiphop site out.
