Article Claims The Hip Hop Culture Is Hurting The NFL

African-American football players caught up in the rebellion and buffoonery of hip hop culture have given NFL owners and coaches a justifiable reason to whiten their rosters. That will be the legacy left by Chad, Larry and Tank Johnson, Pacman Jones, Terrell Owens, Michael Vick and all the other football bojanglers.

By failing to confront and annihilate the abhorrent cultural norms we have allowed to grab our youth, we have in the grand American scheme sentenced many of them to hell on earth (incarceration), and in the sports/entertainment world we’ve left them to define us as unreliable, selfish and buffoonish.

Race is not the determining factor when it comes to having a good or bad attitude. Culture is.

  2. Pounce Says:

Jason Whitlock is a career under achiever and when he realized that he decided to start attacking black people in sports. That was his “claim to fame” He use to write for some paper, either Washington Post or Chicago Tribune and couldn’t cut it in a major market so ended up in KC if im not mistaken.

Dude makes appearances on “Sports Reporters” which comes on ESPN early Sunday mornings when im walkin in. Maybe like 7am (in cali) but anyway I personally dont agree with all his crap. Hes been compared to the black bill o’reilly of sports talk. Take this shit with a grain of salt.

  3. Hi5 Codes Says:

… so rap is causing these people do stupid things…? cool.

  4. County Of Kings Says:

jason whitlock always seemed a lil bias. he was on that oprah special about hiphop wit al sharpton and others.

but i cant completely disagree with him, i do think that are culture is making it worse for us in sports, but at the same time i dont think they should bow down to whatever the white owners want. that shit is modern day slavery and although we would love to be in they shoes, they get bossed around, sold, traded, worked to their limit and then dropped when a newer model comes around just like slaves.

david stern in the nba, has to look at it differently he cant get that much white people so he inforces more rules and regulations cuz he league will start losing money cuz of stephen jacksons and zach randolph types. niggas cant even wear doo-rags. nfl has alot of black and white so its nuthin to shut out black people and get more white. we should be true to ourselves, and if yourself means no matter how much money u make u still gonna live your life like u broke and in the hood and do dumb shit then stay at home cuz u fuckin it up for the rest.
its about money, make it work for you and your people

  5. T2 Says:

Everything bad in the world they blame on hip hop it is perfetic.

I may be wrong but Snoop Dogg started his own football league to help out the children but there is no mention of of his dedication to that. I don’t see many film and rock stars doing that.

  6. Balck is the new White Says:

Snoop Dogg started that football league as part of his community service….

  7. BlackIce Says:

“Hip Hop Foofballers” WOW … Again another unfounded attack on Hip Hip. This gut only associated players that have been in trouble to Hip Hip in his atricle like Hip Hop is the blame for their action. He didn’t note the fact that even the players who haven’t been in trouble listen to Hip Hop or the fact that during all the commercial breaks the stadiums have the entire audience listening to Hip Hop. This is just another underachiever trying to put some negative focus on Hip Hop, so everyone will not just remember him for not being able to cut it in the NFL …….

  8. Pounce Says:

The Patriots and the Colts are model franchises not because of race but because ownership knows how to spend money when it comes to a salary cap. Good coaching and talented palyers do not hurt either. Other than Peyton manning who are the talented players on the colts and what race are they? Same with the Patriots, beside Brady who is the big names and who have been in the past.

Fact of the matter is winning is the best deodorant for anything. And in business, owners dont give a fuck about white or black they care about green. RTNY pull some strings and let me go at this dude in a open forum. (no homo)

In basketball Spurs, are considered a model franchise and they are mostly international players on their roster. So by his standards does that mean that Americans are what is wrong with basketball? Get this dude the fuck outta here.

  9. Juicy Says:

go POUNCE!! (yea im being a groupie and if u dont like it i dont give a F*@#$)

anyway, i guess im not the type of person that likes to blame outside sources for ones own stupidity. but before they blame hip hop, did they ever think about the fact that usually the music reflects the time period its in, the streets is what influences the music. so why not blame the community and try ro clean it up. music isnt making people do anything that they havent already seen.

  10. sharkcity Says:

if you have never read a Jason Whitlock article i suggest you check out a few, this man blames hip hop for everything wrong with the world. as someone stated above he is comparable to being the O’Reily of sports writers. he is an uncle tom in the flesh, and not because he wants blacks to do better, it is because he blames any and all problems on the hip hop community, all the while turning a blind eye to the crazy shit white people do. he isnt blaming rock and roll or anything for all the wreslters killing themselves and their families. just ignore this clown he played ball for a while and couldnt make it now he shits on those that excel.

  11. TU Says:

ignorance is bliss…its not people like Chad Johnson or Terrell Owens that are to blame for these ignorant views/opinions about hip hop, but ignorant and miss informed journalist who use their positions to miss inform everyone else such as white mainstream America

  12. California Love Says:

    Another anti-hiphop campaign by Fox

  13. Broadway Says:

I do not read anything Jason whitlock has to say, when he is a guest on sports reporters i change the channel. He hates black people and hip hop more then anything else. He’s a worse racist than Bill O’riely and Don imus. Fat son of a bitch.

  14. black boy Says:

Jason Whitlock fuck u!!i see where this going…sport, music, entertainment and random assholes dissing, keep looking 4 answers the reason aint in hip hop!!
when rap extremist are gonna start shooting n blowing theyselves they still gonna blame it on hip hop as a culture!! The blind leads the blinded.

    suwhooooooooooooooooooo

  17. illpoe Says:

When I saw this post, I immediately knew that this was written by Jason Whitlock. He’s on some personal crusade against hip hop. This is not his first article bashing hip hop through sports somehow, and this won’t be his last

He’s just playing his role to show the racist execs in Fox Corp. that he can play that good boy, house slave role. This is his way of telling them: “hey look at me guys. see? i hate hip hop also. Give me a more prominent role in this company.”

  18. JamRock Says:

BOTTOM LINE TAKE RESPONSIBILTY FOR YOUR ACTIONS. DONT PUT THE BLAME ON HIP HOP JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE CANT ACT RIGHT.

“Race is not the determining factor when it comes to having a good or bad attitude. Culture is.”

CULTURE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HAVING A GOOD OR BAD ATTITUDE, THAT INDIVIDUAL CHOOSES TO ACT THAT WAY, YOU CANT SAY HIP-HOP MADE MICHEAL VICK DO WHAT HE DID. HE CHOSE TO ENGAGE IN THAT ACTIVITY. IT MIGHT OF INFLUENCED HIM, WHO KNOWS, BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY DUDE IS A GROWN ASS MAN AND KNOWS RIGHT FROM WRONG.

IS IT ME OR IS IT LIKE EVERYTHING THAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG IN THE WORLD IS ALWAYS PUT ON HIP-HOP. DAMN PEOPLE JUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN SHIT. NO MATTER IF IT INFLUENCED YOU OR NOT, YOU CHOSE TO DO WHAT YOU DO.

  19. nasahlon Says:

lately people blamin hip hop for ever fucking thing they need to mine there own bizznes….

  20. Young Han Solo Says:

Just like #16, I knew this had to be Whitlock. If you followed the controversy last year after the all-star game where he submitted two completely different articles about the weekend days apart from eachother you know the man has issues.

  21. Words Says:

    “bojanglers”? damn.

  22. spotlight Says:

mayne if i aint know any better i would say they prolly go blame the war in iraq and aids in africa on hip-hop after a while too…….

when will people start ownig up to the shit they do–its not the rappers fault, it starts at home nad ends within yourself–no rap song i ever heard told me to go plot to kill my wife–buy machine guns, rape white women, or rob a museum,….the shit happens in the hood and some people are predicate felons to this lifestyle–thats-there thing–and it doesnt speak for people like jayz and common and magic and spike and denzel and jordan and all the rest of us successful black people who love hip-hop…

    get serious man..

  23. blanco montana fuck ya lyfe ya guntha 1100 for the oz Says:

  25. blacc suhn Says:

man the racism cry is getting out of hand! there is no way possible to blame hiphop for anything, other than givin power to street cats. what some people fail to realize is that atheletes are normal everyday people, with some sort of skill. i myself played football for over 15 years, and i have never encoutered racism. from pee wee to semi-pro. so i guess i saying is, you can never blame a person’s actions on noone but that person. if that were’nt so…then the devil made me write this reply! ya figga deal me?

  26. nino Says:

They are not blaming hip hop music there are making a case that the hip hop culture is bringing down the character of professional sports which has a half truth to it.. lets be serious for one moment how many of us can really go work or have a career as a professional i.e lawyer doctor ect with tatoos peircing grills hip hop slang thug Ettiquet and expect people to take us serious sometimes life imitates art just ask ti but thats not the point i’m trying to make hip hop is cool but when you try to act it out without discretion than you leave yourself open for these type of remarks because at the end of the day the white man is not laughing with you but at you real talk

  27. white boy Says:

article claim the hiphop culture is hurting the NFL…………..well that there fuckin fault don’t blame it on hiphop…bitches

  28. Yuu serious?! Says:

fuck why is everybody blaming hip-hop for every single thing?

hip-hop isn’t even at it’s best right now and i agree with that but wtf the most hip-hop tracks u here is ringtone tracks and they still blame it.

    FUCK!

  29. 2cents Says:

Pounce, I like ya style B!

Chill wit the no homo though…lol that’s a sayin for homo’s.

Basically I pay this uncle ruckus azz negroe no mind. BUT we need to stop trying to be all extra all the time. There’s a difference between trying to get people to apsire for more and turning your nose down at people though and a lotta folks don’t know how to play that. One millionaire would rather get dragged into drug trafficking rather then getting his boys a truely legal fit into the organization they have become.

Thats one reason I like Lebron and how he has done his business so far. Folks (bright) were talkin all that sh!t about him after he fired his agent for his boys… they all cakin now!

  30. R.A. ALL DAY Says:

Hip hop and black culture.. White people buy more hip hop albums than blacks do. You come from nothing and lets see how you will turn out. They came from nothing & now they’re makin money. Don’t be mad @that!They have fun! They play a kids game & they love doing it. Not just blacks get in trouble,JaredAllen, Rob Beck was a known druggy, Benoit killed his whole family! It’s easy to point the finger @ hip hop but not everyone listens to Barry Manolow. Sorry!

  33. hip-hop-momma Says:

How dare this buffoon, this coon, this ass kicker insinuate that we all imitate our music!! Music is meant to enjoy uplift, make you horny, make you go to sleep, make babies. I have never taken an AK47 and shot up nobody’s school and neither has anybody else that I know! Nobody never rained on me, supermanned or supersoaked me and i listen to that all the time! I have never done time and neither has my brothers and a whole lot more black men out there that have never done hard time and listen to hip hop everyday. If you like this music don’t listen to it but don’t sit and try to judge us and out musical preferences!! And stop blaming everything on hip hop!! I am getting sick of this shit.

  34. bkaezown718 Says:
