Entertainers 4 Education Alliance: Dipset, Remy Ma & Others Perform For A Good Cause
Additional Information on Entertainers 4 Education visit www.e4ea.org
WHY: ”The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the alarmingly high dropout rate in the United States and send a powerful message to over 2500 New York City inner city youth encouraging them to make smart choices about their future and to stay in school,” explains E4EA’s Executive Director, Tonya Lewis.
THE FACTS: ”The drop out rate in NYC is at a shocking all time high; 49% of New York City’s Public High School students do not graduate from high school. Everyday 500 students drop out of NYC high schools. New York State has the highest dropout rate for Black and Hispanic students of any state in the nation. Approximately 7,000 students will drop out of school per school day nation wide. I’m concerned about our future and have asked those committed to sending a message to our next generation to lend their voices.”

What’s really good with these “do I say, not as a I do” people they had to talk to these students. It’s been proven many times you do not need a HS diploma to become a rapper or singer. Not saying all the students wanted to become rappers and singers but if I wanted to be a doctor, send me a doctor or someone of merit to talk to me, not a drop out rapper.
And this shit also proves to you the influence that rappers and those in the biz have on kids & teens.

Funny we reward education with a poisoning session. for all the kids who value attendance, the right to live, earning legally, listen to this music about sellin crack killin niggaz and ditchin responsibilty to go… BALLINNNNNN!
smh… Where’s a common or a mos def? Sh!t the needed to reach out to dead prez if they are in the hood like I believe.
October 22nd, 2007 at 3:55 am
yall niggas is silly man! first of all if you looking to juelz santana, jim jones and max b to raise your kids you are fuckin crazy!!! their triflin ass parents are supposed to give them the tools to be able to listen to music and not imitate what they are listening to….my problem is: where is oprah, bill cosby and al sharpton now??? why arent they at this event showing love to the artist that took time out to do something for the kids????? i guess it didn’t fit their political agenda!!!! NWA didn’t raise me in my day, my parents did!!!!!!
October 22nd, 2007 at 4:12 am
WOW why niggas going @ those who DID attend…lyrics or not they still had the courtesy to support and show up…would people prefer if they didnt. If these people have ALOT of infulence and at leats their tyna use it positively for once! So them saying stay in school has more of an impact than if Oprah (who you would expect to say it and be there but wasn’t) said it.

oh wow, come on now black people!!!!! remy ma??? dipset????
as a parent i cant believe they would do something like that. what is wrong with our community? we have all these artists out here that preach and live street violence and these are our kids role models? this is who the schools look to to talk to our kids? parents need to do better than this, shit the schools need to do better!!! or is it that this generation of parents dont give a damn, and dream of their kids making it big in the music industry or something. SMH

and i’m supposed to bring my kids to that. keep yo kids away from mine. these the same parents that blame hiphop for dumb shit in the household, then they tell their kids to look up to peanut on the corner, he went all the way to the 10th grade before he dropped out.

@ #5 (DJ) There’s lessons and then there’s reinforcement.
you can get a positive lesson with a lotta negative reinforcement and at some point the negative reinforcement will most likely take over.
@ 10 (juicy) B-I-N-G-O!
@ #22 (The king) lol… you’s a fool, but you ain’t lyin!
We gotta keep sh!t age appropriate, and we put too much out here for these CHILDREN, if this was a homecoming/spring break performance @ a college…GREAT! Performing most there songs in a public school… isn’t right. kids are so intersted in sex money and drugs cause thats all there hear about all the time.
October 23rd, 2007 at 4:28 am
You shoot your best friend now you are at a rally for kids to stay in school? Glad my kids don’t go that school. She need to be working on her case. Nothing wrong with any of there music, it just ain’t for kids.
