Now Jay z best ever numbers out the gate was 680 000 last year, and i know tonnes of people were dissapointed with that one. Many people bought it coz it was the comeback album.

I’m a big Jay fan; he’ll get two sales from me, I already have the album pre-ordered on iTunes, but he won’t sell as much as kanye or 50, simply because the 50 & Kanye showdown becaume more like an election more so than anything else, some people baught Kanye just so 50 wouldn’t come out on top, those same people would have downloaded the album if there wasn’t a showdown. The game has changed, you can’t judge the success and quality base on album sales now, only ringtone sales….HA HA justjoking with that last line.

If you’re a fan, support the real, go buy the album, not just Jay’s but anyone’s CD you like, even if it’s soulja boy.

Its not that much of a buzz with the public outside of us hiphop fans who go out and pursue music via internet ect. When you hit the status that jay hit (King/Legeng) level you become a victim to your own success which in turn creates an ego that can and is normally your downfall. He probably gonna do 600k. If the album is fire then he can sell over 2 million before the new year. Remember x-mas right around the corner.

I’m pretty sure Jay’ll do big numbers this year. This is supposed to be the album we all want from Jay, and everything I’ve heard from the record gives me every indication it will be. Stop comparing this to Kingdom Come, that album was shitty and we knew it, thats why we didn’t buy it. Not cuz we don’t fuck wit Jay, or his career is over or whatever. It was shitty. And I don’t know what niggas is talkin about Jay not having a buzz, you talkin about the album right now. And I bet money every one of you dudes know the release date. Every publication even vaguely associated with hip hop, online and print is talking about this album. People are excited. What you mean to say is he ain’t wasting money on promotion tryna to gain new fans and develop a new audience with a shitty album like last time around.

His strategy this album is brillant, we only heard about the album 2 months before it was scheduled for release. That means people who are excited about the idea of a new Jay record will have a chance to buy it while the excitement is still fresh, and he doesn’t have to generate excitement like 50 an Ye did. Plus, in this short window of time, chances are when the album is leaked it won’t be available online very long before its official release. Dude is goin to do big numbers, I’m thinkin the 700 – 1.3 range.

it might have been called a “concept”album but from the looks of that track list and some of the lyrics that are out on these singles i doubt thats what it truly is. ex.- the crack and 80’s and the hustlers wearing fresh nikes,rose drinking and mazotaving references and talking about “HIS” hustling days. i thought this movie was about the 70’s frank lucas the only thing partially 70’s are the beats and thats iffy.
