    Tootie,
Ok, I read that it’s just a 5 city concert tour, but he will be down here promoting. And I think he is only gonna be at the Velvet Room. That sucks because I can’t get in, unless I drop like $400-500 that night.

  20. 80's kid Says:

#4, “The Boss”, its cool to have an opinion but at least be truthful with yourself. No one cares to listen to him anymore? You don’t really believe that do you?

Atlanta heads…theres a promo party at the Velvet Room on 11/4…not sure why their having it there, not really a place for a performance like these others.

I am a really big Jay-z fan, but it disappoints me,that he do so few promotion!!!!

Beyonce is everywhere, when she has a album coming out, but he stays home and waitung for her ass!!!!!

American Gangster is only 250 on Amazon, Alica is 40 and Britney 50, that album will sell 400 units, not more!!!!
Probably he is satisfied with that! he´s running his career!!!

  27. Anon Says:

oh to the clowns that said jay an’t gonna sell no tickets or what ever you were saying first all i don’t know if your living under a rock or something but he always sell out a show.always..just cause yall dislike him don’t mean shit.i mean he is jay -z .maybe not you but that’s a big name he can make a song about planting flowers.and people would still break they necks to see him perform it. rather yall like him or not he will always be mr. 300 songs all of em hits ,9 albums all plat. every concerts/shows all sold out.

  34. SeancK Says:

so far only the hammerstein one is up on ticketmaster.. and the Chicago HOB doesnt have anything up yet… hmmm

  35. Defnsyhn Says:

Good one #27. The only thing I didn’t like about this whole discussion was #14 downgrading poppers and lockers, and saying that he’s REAL HIP-HOP, like poppin’ and lockin’ isn’t. That was wack, especially since rapp is what I really think he/she was talkin’ about. Anyway, Jay has already established himself as a great, he will sell out, period. I’m not the biggest Jay fan, but he’s a good lyricist when need be, and he has charisma. Give credit where credit is due. PEACE!

  36. 80's kid Says:

Anon, whats so funny? Dude said nobody cares to listen to him anymore. Ummm, the NY show is already sold out. Did it take at least an hour this time? For somebody no one wants to listen to, his shows sure sell out quick!

  37. Anon Says:

Last I checked, #23’s comment was originally #20’s comment.

RTNY you on some bullshit here with the comments man.

    …Regardless…I’M THERE…

  40. Reppin da South Says:

    HOUSTON?

  41. T Taverniti Says:

man. i just went to the rams head live website to try and get some tickets and it has nothing about jay-z or american gangster listed for 11/9.
they got some band covering led zeppelin songs, my fav band, but still i wanna see hov.

    ima have to call.

  42. jayjay624 Says:

FUCK ITS SOLD OUT ALREADY IN NY!!!!!!

  43. Pounce Says:

LA is sold out to. But on another note is this nigga album gonna leak or not? Its like 2 weeks until it drops.

  44. mas Says:

Hope LA aint sold out, if not im there

  45. we stone Says:

wtf damn already sold out in ny im tight.

  46. Tha Boss Says:

Okay, I have seen the backlash of my comment above, and no of the people anymore. Let me break it down: First peoplim no twelve, for you idiots out there. But to add further emphasis on the point that I made, he is not the voice of the people anymore:

“people are going to his concerts to see him perform his body old work, hoping to get a glimsp of what he was able to do once upon a time, Not that “Blue Magic” bullshit.”

Jay-Z frequently compares himself to Michael Jordan, so I’m going to do the same thing. When Jordan first came back into the NBA we all thought that he was going to still be “his airness.” We the people went to all of his games at first, to see if he still could preform his old body of work. Near halfway of the season, “we the people” stop attending Wizard games. because we noticed that Jordan’s career had “faded to black.” We started supported other’s like Kobe Bryant. Just as all of us went out and bought Kingdom Come hoping to catch a glimsp of the Hard Knock Life Jay-Z or the Reasonable Doubt Hova. But the majority of “the people” were disappointed. Now is it fair to compare young Jay to old Jay, my answer is yes, because his music was once used to uplift and inspire people. Just like if Jordan came back to the NBA again, it won’t be as big a deal.
Second, the radio plays a huge part in getting music out to the masses (the people) and this shows up in Billboard. Jay-Z’s Blue Magic is not even in the top 100 and it is number 37 in the hip-hop/r and b singles chart (his own genre of music). He is not even holding his own in comparision with the rest of his class right now. Now Soulja Boy is number 1, even though I don’t agree with him being on top, I guess the majority of America does, because they are calling in the request his songs.
Third, Do I think he is going to sell as much as he did on Kingdom Come? No, because people were disappointed with his last body of work, You only as good as your last hit.

P.S. This is coming from a Jay-Z that bought every album of his, the times have change, it is almost ‘08 not ‘98. Like I said maybe because he is in a different space and maybe he is not trying to be the voice of the people anymore. Let the hate begin…

  47. bmorecoolgirl Says:

Yo Real Talk imma trying to go to the show in Baltimore. But it’s not @ Ramshead. The rep. said mad people are starting to call but he’s not going to be there. Can you check for listing again and post them?

  49. Anon Says:

Jay-z tickets sell in a blink of an eye in NY. You assed out unless you can afford $400-$500 for a pair on places like Ebay & Craigslist.

  50. will Says:

Tha Boss, you make no sense with your comparison to Jay-z V MJ in perspective to the first time MJ came back. MJ won three rings in a row and ended with the follow-though!.. So will jay.

  51. Tha Boss Says:

Okay, yea that is true MJ did come back and have success after is first retirement, which makes Jay-Z’s self comparison to Michael Jordan kind of irrelevant. This is easily stated because with Jay-Z’s first comeback, he did not equal he prominence prior to retirement!!!

  52. CHILL WILL Says:

JAY BRUVA?? WUT HAPPEN WIT MIAMI NIGGA??? FUK THESE OTHER TOWNS MAYNE.THEY AINT GOT THE BITCHES WE DO AND THE HOT SPOTS WE GOT MAYNE.U KNOW U STAY OUT HERE TOO.NIGGA MIAMI’S MAD

  53. luscious_shorty Says:

  54. luscious_shorty Says:

#43 LA is sold out? How do you know? I called HOB today and they said they have nothing confirmed….

  55. cathy Says:

anyway…do anybody have info about the show in philly .

and yea i want this album to leak lol.but i guess i can wait. man i hope the show in philly isn’t sold out!

  56. Southside Says:

son still has no buzz, no singles airplay

  57. T2 Says:

I ain’t worried about what the haterz are talking about and Jay has no buzz the name alone creates buzz.

Jay-Z always sells records whether his singles do well or not on the charts you people obviously don’t know much about Jay-Z chart history with singles. He may not have number one singles but he has number one albums. You mention sulja boy his single is doing good but his sales ain’t that great.

November 6th Tha Dynasty Continues Y’all Die!

  58. mas Says:

    @57…WORD!

  59. Southside Says:

LMAO at stans makin excuses, nigga has no BUZZ, his singles aint even charted, he gets no spins, 80% of people dont even kno he got a album comin, and aint nobody checkin for the nigga anymore

  60. SAM FROM THE BAY Says:

    BAY AREA?!??!?! come on JAY!!!!!

come out here to the BAY ONE TIME!!!!!!!

    We got love for you!

  61. 18 the new 10 Says:

Jay needs to come down south man. We got love for the King of NY. We don’t hate on no one. We don’t even hate on NY. It’s just the haters from NY that we don’t like. And it’s not like NY is the only city that be hatin on the south. From Cali to the Chi to even the south be hatin on the south aka Pimp C. But Jay should have put a ATL date at least. We love Jay in the A. But at least he comin to the Velvet soon. To all the haters that be like this aint 98 no more and Jay Z is washed up needs to stop while they at it. Ya’ll damn well know that music from that time period was hot and still is hot. I can still play Big Pimpin or H to the Izzo and it gets crazy in the room. Number 2 Jay Z has been able to stay so relevent even knocking on 40. The fact that you talkin about him ( negative or positve ) must mean that he is still relevent in some way. If Jay goes platinum with this album by the end of the year I say that he here to stay for the next 4 or 5 years. Hov aint goin no where. What would we do wit out HOV? As much as I support the south and all I still think we need the Jay’s, Busta’s and Snoop’s to stick around a little longer. Adds more balance to the game. Stop all the region beef too. It aint worth it. I got family all over the country and we enjoy each others music. When ever I listen to

  62. A TOWN STOMP Says:

When ever I listen to NY music I feel like I be in NY. I feel like I’m passin through the airport and gettin ready to go through the city. Same thing with Chicago and Cali or wherever the music come from. We all can’t be everything to this hip hop. It’s like if you from Atlanta like me and you see al the great shit comin out of here. Then you have the Pop Lock and Drop It dance from St Louis. That was hot in the clubs. But it’s not from the A. We all can’t be everything to everyone at the same time. Like Talib Kweli said in Everything Man. Like in Cali you got the real laid back shit like a Let’s Get Blown record but you from NY and you have that head nodding shit that’s just pure crack. Folk from Cali want that music and folk from NY want that music too. It’s all about enjoying what we all bring to the table as a hip hop community. There aint nothing wrong with a NY nigga lovin a snap record. It’s fun man. Aint nothin wrong with a southern nigga feelin a Talib Kweli record. We need to just enjoy oursleves more. I pick ny NY niggas up at Hartsfield Airport and go pop some bottles and check out some broads. They do the same thing. We gotta stop doin this to oursleves.

  63. Southside Says:

New York is the G.O.A.T. city tho.

  64. jb Says:

dam jay is sellin out that nigga is still doin it big i cant hate man hova is genuis this is all da buzz he needs to go gold da first week…

    GMC WE ALL WE GOT…

  65. Juicy Says:

i might have to take a lil trip to the CHI

  66. JassBoo Says:

    Stop hatin’ on Jay-z! He is the best rapper alive!!! He will always be an legacy! {American Gangster}

  67. RealTalk Says:

#46 – WASTED POST – IT’S YOUR OPINION NOT FACT.

PEOPLE THAT ARE FANS OF JAY SUPPORTED KC LIKE THEY’LL SUPPORT AG BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE IN HIM AND HIS LYRICS STILL HOLDS “THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE”. EVEN IF KC DIDN’T DO TRILLIONS, IT STILL SOLD MORE THAN YOUR FAV RAPPERS’ MIXTAPES AND ALBUM SALES. IT WAS FOR THE GROWN FOLKS THAT NEEDED TO HEAR GROWN FOLKS TYPE OF MUSIC. NOT DRUGS IN A DUFFLE BAG, HOW MANY TIMES I GOT ARRESTED OR HOW HIGH I CAN GET.

JAY IS STILL SETTING THE TRENDS AND STILL THE ONE THAT EVERYONE IS WAITING TO HEAR WHAT’S NEXT FROM. HE CHANGED THE CLOTHES GAMES, CAR GAME AND MUSICAL FLOWS. HE EVEN MADE DUDES UPGRADE ON THE TYPE OF CHICKS THEY PICK. NOT JUST BEAUTY AND BODY, BUT ONE THAT’S ABOUT HER BUSINESS. ONLY THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE CAN DO THAT STILL TODAY.

EVEN YOUR NEW FAVORITE RAPPERS ARE HOT ON THE NET, BUT WHEN IT COMES TO SALES AND CONCERTS, THEY’RE NOT MOVING THE NUMBERS HOW JAY’S MOVING THEM. THEY DEFINITELY AREN’T SELLING OUT CONCERTS – AND JAY DOES THIS SOLO.

JAY’S STILL THE BEST LYRICIST AND MOST POETIC VOICE OUT.

DON’T GET STUCK ON THE ONE HIT WONDERS OR THE MIXTAPE KINGS. REGARDLESS IF A RAPPER PUTS OUT A TRILLION MIXTAPES A YEAR DOESN’T MAKE HIM THE NEW “VOICE”. EVEN THE CURRENT MIXTAPE KING IS STILL EMULATING JAY IN HIS QUEST FOR THE THRONE. HE COPIES HIS FLOW AND ADMITTED THAT HE TRIES TO THINK LIKE HIM WHEN WRITING. HE’LL LOOK AT THE TAT OF JAY’S RHYMES ON HIS ARM AND FILL IN AND AROUND THE LINES TO GET A QUICK 16 BARS. THE THING IS, IT STILL LACKS SUBSTANCE, CONSISTENCY AND POETRY BECAUSE IT’S NOT JAY’S ACTUAL THOUGHTS AND FLOW, BUT SOMETHING THAT’S BEING COPIED SO THE AUTHENTICITY AND INTEGRITY ISN’T THERE.

IN CLOSING, AS JAY SAID – “IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO’S THE BEST, JUST GO THROUGH MY RAPS”. ‘NUFF SAID.

HOVEMBER’S AROUND THE CORNER AND THE ROC TOUR IS COMING IN 2008.

  68. luscious_shorty Says:

    # 67 I concur.

  69. Christopher Says:

Jay-Z come on give it a rest. Yes of course you had an impressive carrier in hip hop. Don’t you realize your taking away from other artist that are struggling to emerge from the bottom. By continuing to make music you’re taking away from that. I’m not saying this album isn’t good or wont out sell someone else but it’s not fair to those hungry artist that are waiting for a chance to shine. You’re hogging up all the lime light. Fall back and run one of your other ventures full time. Let someone else have a chance to deliver good music to the public.

  70. Redd G (Chi-Town Bound) Says:

shut the fuck up bitch to the nigga over me…he bring hip-hop back by his fucking self. hip-hop in 07 been the best becease of him. its back at the fuckin top again bitch.

  71. T2 Says:

OMG Ive just heard snippets of every track off the album it is a fucking classic Jay-Z is the G.O.A.T. haters can’t tell me nothing the album is incredible.

  72. Ryan Says:

WOW I have seen some stupid comments. But people saying Jay should stop making music so others can shine? WHAT IS THIS LITTLE LEAGUE WHERE EVERYONE GETS A TURN??

Hes in business to sell records and the products he endorses. Not to make sure everyone else on the bottom of the totem pole makes $$$$. He has to look after Shawn Carter and thats it. Not too mention the albums he drops are better then 90% of the years other hip hop releases.. CONSISTENTLY. Hes now an icon not just in the rap world but the whole world. So haters fall back!

  73. Cris Says:

Knocking on 40 and still the king of hip hop. The only person I see taking Jay’s place in the future is TI (Free TIP). And even TI got a lot of his package from Jay. I don’t even think that Jay can no be relevent for the next 5 years. He still the man ya’ll. Just cuz he a older cat don’t mean he still can’t make music that the younger cats won’t like. Age really isn’t nothing but a number. Don’t get brainwashed into thinkin that Older means your time is up. There aint no law for that. And I’m only 21. Dude almost twice my age and I don’t know how hip hop would be without him. Did you see the recpetion he got at Scream fest. I was there. People were crying and everything. How can a washed up rapper do that?

  74. lilg Says:

    toronto!!!

  75. Sativa_Girl Says:
