I had my son in a mostly black school. Back to school night,2 parents showed. We moved and the back to school night in a mostly white school, 100% percent participation. It is not the color of the school that guarantees success, it is the attitude of the community. If you live in a don’t give a fuck community what the fuck you think is gonna happen? Other people ain’t gonna clean your house for you! I also feel that in a mostly black or latino community the teachers should reflect the population of the school. Not saying throw all the white teachers out but our children need to see more successful black people on a constant basis.

You wanna here some real racist shit. Look up what’s happened in Louisiana. Where 6 black kids were being charged with 2nd degree attempted murder for beating up a white kid who hung a noose on a tree on school grounds. The white kid spent all of 3 hours in the hostipal and then went to a ring ceremony the SAME night.

This is a sad but very true fact. Even in schools that are “integrated”, it is hard to see minority students in high level courses, and if there are, they were placed into these courses to fulfill some sort of quota, without the proper training(for lack of a better word). It is as if educators have given up half of their student body.

now everybody has given there perspective on the black community but the articale shows that we the latinos face the most obstacles theres issues wit culture differences,language,poverty,and the fact were latino and not white doesnt help either i mean shit we don’t got not god damn latino leaders holdin us down at least black ppl got some of there own ppl in positons of power and leadership that try to fight for you guys shit neva gonna change until the attitude of ppl in the hood or barrrios that being smart is not koo shit neva change
