Ja Rule Speaks On The Congress Planned Meeting On Hip Hop

“They got my man Doug Morris under fire and shit, they got him going down to go speak to Congress about hip-hop lyrics, are you fucking serious? There’s a fucking black kid right now about to get 25 years for having a fight with some white kids over hanging the nooses over the white tree, lets get to that. Let’s get into shit like that, because that’s what’s tearing up America, not me calling a woman a bitch or a hoe on my rap songs.

And if it is, then we need to go step to Paramount, and fucking MGM, and all of these other motherfuckers that’s making all of these movies and we need to go step to MTV and Viacom, and lets talk about all these fucking shows that they have on MTV that is promoting homosexuality, that my kids can’t watch this shit. Dating shows that’s showing two guys or two girls in mid afternoon. Let’s talk about shit like that! If that’s not fucking up America, I don’t know what is.

There’s a lot of issues we can address besides hip-hop, but they want to put everything on us like we’re the problem. But see, and this is going to be a shameless fucking plug, but I said, “when everyone wants to point the finger, and ask why there’s so much corruption, they only need to look in the mirror.” It starts with themselves.

Full Interview @ Complex Mag

Ja is speaking the truth, the amount of bullshit on TV during regular hours is crazy these days. With that said, Hip Hop does need to take a look at itself and it’s effect on the community.

  2. STAGE. Says:

FIRST!!!!!!!! ja is speaking the truth and its od the shit that is on tv. a lot of rappers worry about their videos and spins and try not to speak aganist big networks like mtv, viacom, etc.

  3. A dime a dozen Says:

cosigns with ja rule; hip hop is being used as a scape goat and there are more important issues to be focused on than what rappers talk about in their songs. and I defenitely cosing with ja rule on mtv. I remember having to change the tv from the mtv channel when my little brother was around because of all the gay-ness they promote, those kind of images implanted in a kids mind thinking that that kind of lifestyle is normal is not good. It’s also up to the parents to supervise their kids and raise them and not let the tv or music raise them.

  4. fgant23 Says:

co sign wit ja. these fuccin congress dickheads wanna get rap into this. na go handle them white fuccs in alabama and shit. nigga is wilding hardddd.

  5. roasted Says:

ja rule sayin sum real shit,he still wack tho

  6. blaze Says:

damn, hip hop catchin a lotta heat these days. i dont think hip hop is tha main cause of kids bad behavior.pernts need to step they game up. i grew up on hip hop evaq since i was a shortie, but my parents taught me better than runnin up wit tha heat on somebody just cuz some rapper said so. besides, if they really want to start censorin or bannin shit, they need to ban them faggot ass shows on mtv. they need to stop all porn and action flick movies cuz they all ahve bad images in them.

  7. GROSS405 Says:

    lol@3

  8. shadow Says:

I respect him for actually speaking this and we get his point but in order for him to be truly taken serious or respected he has to address the issue in a more proper manner. His comments on shows promoting homosexuality isn’t going to be taken lightly either. But yeah he is talking on some real shit. I hate how people keep blaming hip-hop when it’s obvious that images promote and teach violence better than words do.

  9. WaTTs Craaakkin Says:

its these wiggas who done destroyin this shit.

No hate on 50, but its really his stans that people are talkin about. Livin in a suburban neighborhood and then actin like they all hard on the internet and lovin 50 2 death.

  10. T2 Says:

    co sign Ja Rule!

He is talking the truth we all know hip hop ain’t perfect but to keep blaming everything bad in the world on hip hop is stupid.

People try to act like these issues ain’t serious and then when a rapper talks or raps about real deep issues they get critized.

  11. Chris Rock Says:

    >>>ja rule sayin sum real shit,he still wack tho

    hahaha…..

But it’s true…I’ve been sayin that shit about MTV and what is shown on TV in general, for a long time. These people don’t care about what is wrong with the country, they just hate Hip Hop. But we gotta be smarter than them and not go down to their level. Just because someone is an ignorant dickhead doesn’t mean we can be like that too. Don’t look at others….look at yourself.
These people create the problems….now they act like they want to solve them? There’s more serious shit that needs to be dealt with first.

  12. DJ SKILLZ DA HUSTLA Says:

WORD UP THEY TRYIN TO BANN THE WORDS “NIGGA BITCH HOE” BANN SAGG’N YA PANTZ??? THIZ SHIT IS GETN DISGUSTIN

  13. DJ GX Says:

    cosign ja

they alwayz been tryna blame hip-hop and guess what i agree but only in a way,i think if commercial hip-hop was gone then half of thiz dumb shii wouldn’t b happenin
but real rap (ja rule included) shouldn’t b unda fiyah

  14. killa Says:

I agree with what dude is saying, but the thing that pisses me off is that he is only saying so because he has an album coming out.
Don’t act like you care just so you can get some publicity for your upcoming album.
Uh oh, no no Ja rule, be real to your self and your people

  15. iforgotmyname Says:

    @killa

I don’t think he just came out with a statement….i think it was a part of an interview where the interviewer asked something regarding the congressional hearings.

  16. GOD is good Says:

  21. M Says:

he is right about the tv durin the afternoon you put on mtv now and you see 2 fags kissin that shit aint right at all …lil kids b watchin that shit …

  22. GOD is good Says:

    ^ Exactly!

  23. vonnievonn65 Says:

Killa you are the ultimate idiot. 50 does publicity stunts nukka….you can see very well in his speech that this was sumthing bothering him and that he is passionate about the subject. He clearly sounds upset and yes he is definitely speaking the truth.

Wake up America there is a real war going on…and it starts with your spirits and culture (HipHop) next it will be your race. You may find yourself in some slavery shet soon ! If you dont stand for sumthing you will fall for everything…..I tell my kids this everyday….Pay Attention they are Attacking us through our music now….trying to destroy our spirits and culture…we have to make a stand now…

But Killa…..you too busy thinking he tryna sell his album..that he cant even give a dayum about things thats happenning in the world..You are a Joke ! You too busy just tryna keep him buried under the bridge..and for a minute let say that ur right…then I will definitely go out and buy his album now MIRROR in stores…LOL

  24. cream Says:

yo everybody is trying to make it seem like hip hop dont have an effect on people in the world..but it do…man some of these lil niggas in the hood thats growin up without a father or mother and livin wit there grandparents they believe these rap niggas and what they dont know is all these niggas is fake..they livin and fantasy and niggas believe in them…and its not jus lil niggas either its everybody..some of this shit motivates people to sell drugs..which i heard jim jones say thats why he makes music to motivate his niggas on the corner..but its not jus hip hop i jus want people to understand that hip hop does play a part though

  25. BlackIce Says:

Sometimes when I hear a song I be thinking that the lyrics are a little out of comtrol & the ARTIST could have PG13 the lyric instead of making it X-RATED. But like I said, I think the ARTIST should have done that. There’s no way that CONGRESS should be able to tell the artist to do so, this culture we call HIP HOP is ours and we need to be in control of what’s allowed and what’s not allowed. But the unfortunate part is that it’s a MULTI-BILLION dollar a year BUSINESS that the WHOLE WORLD is paying attention to because it’s POPULAR & PRODUCING SO MANY BLACK MILLIONAIRES & giving us so many outlets to make $$$$$$$$$$$$

  26. Chris Rock Says:

    >>>he is right about the tv durin the afternoon you put on mtv now and you see 2 fags kissin that shit aint right at all …lil kids b watchin that shit …

Why do you think they show that shit?! I know it sounds crazy, but they are trying to fuck up peoples heads. They are trying to create confusion in society so they can control you better. Who do you think owns MTV?! Why are they showing that? Who wants to see 2 fags kissing? I don’t even want to write that, never mind watch it….

  27. bibo Says:

now thats soum real talk there.
we gotta respect dis nigga 4 stickin’ up.

  28. Jerzallday Says:

I respect what Ja for he said. Nowadays white america wanna scapegoat hip hop for every little problem or event that takes place. All these important bigger issues that exist been existed years for years and nobody is doing anything about it makes me sick to my stomach. Like Cream said hip hop does have a lil effect to certain people and the youth should not be looking up to the artist as role models. Where are the parents? Blame anybody blame the parents for raising ya kids the wrong way, not Instilling Discipline at a young age and not teaching them right from wrong.
Yeah, hip hop may not be perfect but the so called leaders, the media, fcc and white america that run this country aint perfect either. Like dead prez said its bigger than hip hop.
