Mercy – Alright
Mercy – Triumph
Mercy - Freedom Of Speech
Mercy – Best Foot Forward
Mercy – Faded
You begged for it. You prayed for it. Here it is in the form of an emcee. His name is Mercy.
Mercy is one of the finest and brightest upcoming artist in Hip-Hop. This Brooklyn bred songwriters’ soul stirring, heart wrenching street tales displays Hip-Hop in its purest, rawest form. His recently released street album “Mercy Me: The Journey” was lauded for its stark realism and truths of life. Mercy takes the listener on a lyrical odyssey that displays the ills, the wills, the wont’s of “the hard working, everyday man”. The message of life, death and everything in between is conveyed on bangers such as “Light It Up”, “Let The Dollars Circulate” and “Believe”. Mercy has performed at various venues in New York City such as The Pyramid, Sputnik, Mo Pitkins and The 5 Spot Supper Club to name a few.
Sometimes we get what we ask for. We asked for mercy and Mercy is what we finally have. Follow Mercy. Follow him on his journey, the journey of life.
You guys were ruthless with the last new artist spotlight, let’s see what you have to say about Mercy. Comments will only get deleted if they have nothing to do with the artist, honest opinions are welcomed.

September 7th, 2007 at 3:02 pm
He’s cool he reminds me of lupe fiasco, but da flow is straight.
September 7th, 2007 at 3:12 pm
Feelin it…
September 7th, 2007 at 3:22 pm
His flow is cool, to positive though. Hes the NY Lupe
September 7th, 2007 at 3:31 pm

September 7th, 2007 at 3:36 pm

September 7th, 2007 at 3:57 pm
dope music…..i wouldn’t say too positive…that’s tha problem with our culture…i mean, he ain’t no beaver clever or nothing….
September 7th, 2007 at 4:12 pm
Cosign #8…that is exactly the problem! How’s he going say the music is “too positive..”…straight up Negro! Lol.. I think that if he can get his message across and get people to feel where he’s coming from without having to be bangin or slangin that shows true talent. Everyone is on the thug bandwagon and it is TIRED! RTNY keep doin’ ya thing! I love this website and put all my peoples on..1 Luv..
September 7th, 2007 at 4:13 pm
By the way, he’s not the NY Lupe..I like Lupe but he has no real content…
September 7th, 2007 at 4:16 pm
lol, is this lupe fiasco with a different voice?
September 7th, 2007 at 4:41 pm
great songs, he was kinda lupe fiasco-ish! i don’t know if that’s good or bad:s
September 7th, 2007 at 5:21 pm
DAT WAS WACK…ALL OF HIS SONGS SOUND THE SAME…ONLY DECENT ONE WAS “FREEDOM OF SPEECH”…GAAARRRBBBBBAAAAAGE
September 7th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
after listenin to the first track i heard some lupe.
thats a good thing though.
after listenin to the rest he is a solid rapper.
not any cookie cutter “i gotta be on my new york shit”.
waaay better than the last new artist spotlight.
September 7th, 2007 at 5:34 pm
This is a Good Look…
I see some HATE on here …
“With Our Bright Minds They TRY 2 Dim Us”
September 7th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
lol lol realtalkny took my advice ..good for u listenin to me u should do this ecery week like i said b4 next my nigga nems straight outta coney island
September 7th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
aight listen to like 2 songs that freedom of speech and faded he aight right now need to hear a little more though
and naw he is not no lupe
September 7th, 2007 at 7:44 pm
Sounds too much like Lupe Fiasco. I heard the first 4 bars and began to comment and to my surprise… everybody is comparing him to Lupe. He must’ve been practicing and listening to a little bit too much of Lupe Fiasco. He’s not bad lyrically. Better than all that bubblegum, dance, rocktar, and wannabe gangsta/hustlers shit that’s going on now, but the game needs ORIGINALITY.
September 7th, 2007 at 7:59 pm
U compare him to Lupe based on wat…half of you…correction 2/3rds of u aint even buy Food and Liquor to kno wat Lupe sound like LMAO….but on the real he has talent and just because a new artist isnt killing, peddling dope, “making it rain” all while getting head doesnt mean he sound like “Lupe”…listen to more music people!!! Mercy keep it up…hope to hear more
September 7th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
lupe this lupe that. why yall always gotta categorize a nigga man? they might sound alike but i dont think dude intentionally took lupes sound. besides, yall shud appreciate him fo his a breathe of fresh air in this our superman dance and snap era. by tha way, fuck tha nigga who said “too positive” fuck him wit a horse dick
September 7th, 2007 at 8:02 pm
I’m gettin the Lupe vibe 2, but it’s not an exact match. Dude can rhyme, but from the material that RealTalk has presented 2 me, I don’t see the CRAZY metaphors or similes that Lupe uses so well.
He st8 tho. He needs 2 make sure his HOOKS is nice so he can get some burn. I hope he makes some kind of impact.
September 7th, 2007 at 8:58 pm
He sounds like Lupe like Bow Wow sounds like Lil Wayne (even though Lil Wayne is Bow Wow’s ghostwriter). You can tell that he studies Lupe’s music. His voice changes in each song because he is unable to just be himself.
September 7th, 2007 at 9:06 pm
Mercy is very talented, he does have some similarity to Lupe but he’s very talented, I wish him the best of luck. I’ll support him.
September 7th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
ok realtalk were my props for thinkin of the underground mc spotlight huh
September 7th, 2007 at 10:32 pm
the production is ritee
September 7th, 2007 at 10:33 pm
Smh @ things being “too positive”.
This dude is nice, but anyone who says he doesn’t sound similar to Lupe is buggin. His flow is similar to his too, but I don’t think it hinders his music to the point where you say, “Damn this nigga sound too much like Lupe”. Not like a JR Writer sounds like Cam’ron.
September 7th, 2007 at 10:35 pm
This is my nigga from College I respect his grind and I’ve seen him grow from Rappin in the Lunchroom to havin the Artist Spotlight on this website, My nigga keep grinding, and you still look like 50 lol
September 7th, 2007 at 11:41 pm
pretty nice..freedom of speech was probably my favorite
September 8th, 2007 at 1:56 am
Lupe Fiasco + Little Brother = Mercy
September 8th, 2007 at 4:52 am
Too positive???……………….This dude is serious business. I would rather have 4 or 5 cats that sound like Lupe that actually have some content to their raps then have a million “make it rain” rappers. Mercy, holla at me bro. shakimdj@aol.com
September 8th, 2007 at 6:31 am
hes pretty good definitely some NEEDED talent i i wasn’t feelin tha beats that much but good flow keep it up
September 8th, 2007 at 7:45 am
i definately cosign #29
i, like all of you, heard the lupe, but i knew there was something more…like he was part of some group, and after i read #29’s comment, it hit me
this dude definately sounds like the missing 3rd member of little brother – he’s got the soul beats, the resilient flow going, the positive vibes…i see a bright future for Mercy in the underground circuit….but sadly, i dont think he’ll burst through the mainstream – no disrespect at all, but the mainstream doesnt appreciate music like this…you know, unless you made some gay ass dance move or something
i’d definately buy your cd, Mercy
September 8th, 2007 at 9:25 am
Dope ish right here, I need that tape!
September 8th, 2007 at 9:43 am
the beat on Faded is pretty dope…..lyrics cool….flow cool….just need to work on his hooks…..
And stick to your day job too, cuz, this rap shit don’t pay….you have a better chance playing in the NBA
September 8th, 2007 at 9:52 am
Yeah!!! shout out to my cousin rell aka (MERCY).. grew up with him…..from younger when we was chillin on the porch ..just messing around making rhymes.. from him takin’ it serious doin shows recording songs etc.
He’s came along way!!!! He’s a very talented rapper. Not like all of these dumb as no talent one hit wonder type ass niggas.. He can really rap!!! He’s type of nigga you really sit down and listen to his sings you’ll be like “yea this nigga could rap”. nigga brings real HIP HOP TO YOU!!!!!
September 8th, 2007 at 12:53 pm
Aiiiiiight emceeeeeeeee reepin brooklyn
September 8th, 2007 at 3:47 pm
I THINK HE IS MEDIOCRE AKA WACK FOR ALL YOU ILLITERATE NIGGAS. BUT HEY THATS MY OPINION. REALTALKNY ARE YOU GOING TO DELETE MY OPINION TOO? DO YOU LET ALL COMMENTS IN OR ONLY ONES THAT DICKRIDE THIS MERCY DUDE.
September 8th, 2007 at 4:48 pm
son nice wit his but the rap game is fucked up right now…i mean hes not going to get no spins on the radio neither television because of the shit people rather here now days….so i hope he rapping because he loves to make music…cause if he doing it for money it aint happening…but i like son and wish him the best
September 8th, 2007 at 8:02 pm
Good shit… latinking is right rap ain’t doing shit but getting niggas locked up these days…
Hip hop is dead and we all at the wake talking about how it used to be.
September 8th, 2007 at 10:38 pm
Thank You someone is tryin to bring Hip-Hop back.
September 9th, 2007 at 10:39 am
He is nice! Keep up the good work.
September 9th, 2007 at 1:32 pm
This guy sound good, some traks are samey but so are a lot of artists today! I liked ‘freedom of speech’ and ‘best foot forward’ and no I don’t think he sounds that much like LUPE!
Anywhoo good luck to Mercy on his emerging career! I support him!
September 9th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
Mercy sounds just like me, keep it up. Best of Luck. From The Cool himself Lupe.
September 10th, 2007 at 7:46 am
When I say hes too positive I mean in regards to making money. Fact is positive rappers dont sell records.
September 10th, 2007 at 7:58 am
can we say no sales?
September 10th, 2007 at 8:48 am
My man Mercy…gotta respect the grind…gotta respect the music…keep the tunnel vision going baby it get real bright at the end.
NEED THAT REAL HIP HOP BACK
September 10th, 2007 at 8:57 am
blanco, nems is wack man, FO REAL!!!
anyway, his flow is nice, im not feeling the beats.
pounce is right though, while alot of us love the good shit, it doesnt sell records. common just started selling.
September 10th, 2007 at 9:26 am
y is that? y do we as fans of hip hop not support someone who is good? i often do it myself but when we say this artist wont sell arent we part of the blame? i fucks wit mercy though, his shit is tight
September 10th, 2007 at 9:44 am
for me, i love positive lyrics, but alot of times thats all the song has, like this dude Mercy, his flow is good but the beats are boring. its rare for a positive artist to have beats that i like.
September 10th, 2007 at 9:56 pm
this guy mercy is a 3/5 he has a good flow he does kinda sound like lupe, but his beats are kinda weak he needs more bass so it can make da songs livlier but i dont think he will sell unless he gets real big on da mixtapes like juel ortiz or papoose or cassidy…
September 11th, 2007 at 8:02 am
I KINDA FEEL THAT MERCY IS A TALENTED ARTIST. HE HAS ALOT TO OFFER AS AN MC. I’VE HAD THE PLEASURE OF WATCHING HIM ROCK AT A COUPLE SHOWS AT SPUTNIK. HE DEF. BRINGS A HELL OF A SHOW WITH HIM. HE ROCKED WITH ANOTHER ARTIST, PRINT I BELIEVE ANOTHER DOPE ASS MC. THEY BRING THAT HIT MAKE A DUDE WANNA JUMP UP. I HEARD ALOT FROM THEM GUYS. CANT WAIT TO HEAR MORE. HE GOT A DOPE SHOW. ROCKS WITH A LIVE BAND ON SOME ROOTS SHIT. SO I MEAN HE CAN DEF DELIVER A ENJOYABLE SHOW. THE ONLY CRTIQUE I WOULD HAVE IS HE NEEDS TO BE VERSITLE IN IS CATALOG OF MUSIC. TRY TO CROSS ALL BORDERS OF HIP-HOP. HIP-HOP WAS NEVER ONE SIDED. SO TO BE THE ARTIST THAT HE IS AND REAMIN HIMSELF HE MIGHT WANT TO JUMP ON SOME TRACKS THAT HAS THAT POWER BEHIND HIS MESSAGE SO THAT THE PEOPLE COULD BETTER RELATE TO HIM. ALL IN ALL I GIVE HIM A 6 OUTTA 10 FROM A INDUSTRY STANDARD. I WANT TO HERE MORE HEAR BETTER. GET HIM IMPROVED. THEN HE SHOULD BE READY.
PEACE FROM METHOLOGY
SOUTH SIDE STAND UP!!!!
September 11th, 2007 at 8:34 am
Positive rappers don’t sale cause its easier to turn up “I Get Money” or “Can’t Tell me Nothin” than it is some positive stuff. Most people like the msg but the replay value is poor and like juicey said the beats are usually sub-par.
September 11th, 2007 at 11:00 am
