Second Week Sales For Graduation & Curtis
After debuting at No. 1 last week, Kanye West’s Def Jam album “Graduation” falls to No. 2 with 226,000, a sales slide of 76%. 50 Cent’s “Curtis” does nearly the same, slipping 2-3 with 143,000 (-79%).
As expected both albums take a huge drop, but Kanye still manages to sell more in week 2. 50 Cent told people to watch Kanye’s huge drop but he ended up with a bigger drop. Seems like Def Jam hit him with a 1-2 punch. Kanye drops the same day which I think definitely made him sell less. 50 Cent gets to release the, “I Get Money Forbes Remix,” after the first week but then Jay-Z takes away some buzz by announcing a new album right after. Coincidence, I think not…

50 makes better music than both Kanye and Jay. And is a smart business man so expect more from him in the long run. His album Curtis will sell at least 8 million worldwide just watch and wait. While Kanye will sell at least 4 million and Jay-Z new track is hot garbage not to many guys feel Jay anymore, his biggest fan base was chicks. Thing is… People are sick of 50! I’m glad this happened to the GUnit/Interscope camp. 50 is very arrogant and has NO REASON to be. So what people cant seem to see is… 50 was hot because of the CRACKERS (Sorry if I offend anyone) which was some of Em’s fanbase, and he was hot because of the females, and the STREETS. Co-sign!!!!! As much as I hate to admit it, Jay-Z is a crab just like the rest. I am so disappointed in the direction his music has taken and the fact that he is trying AGAIN this year. Ask half the kids on the street in Los Angeles black and otherwise, 18-20 who love hip hop 1 single from the Kingdom Come album and most of them will tell you they didn’t even know Jay-Z came out with an album last year which is SAD AS HELL cuz I remember damn near breaking my NECK to buy The Blueprint ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 and I still love that album. He makes money off graduation; Thus not wanting to seem bias he throwed a verse on i get money rmx – knowing that many ppl was anticipating the remix he made sure that 50 was not allowed to drop it until after the 1st week – thus helping kanye – and when 5o did drop it he killed the hype by announcing his next album – American Gangster’ which is a conceptual cd to the movie – basically a soundtrack – do u even realize the amount of money making a solo soundtrack to a soon to be numero uno movie starring denzel is – and knowing hov he also has a deal in place to where he receives a cheque for copies sold.

Kanye takes his music seriously and he’s a producer, so he will have a better finished product just from the process of making music (any artist will know what I mean) second, 50 hasn’t changed, we don’t want 3 copies of the SAME album with differnt beats. Third you guys are talking like Kanye didn’t do over 800,000 the first week of Late Registration, people buy Kanyes music because it’s good music. And finally the battle was about the AMERICAN MARKET, SEPTEMBER 11th release.
