i like that the whole album is having that ‘american gangsta’ concept from dat movie, i dunno man this album still might go over ppl’s heads like ‘kingdom come’ did but i can see that lyrically he’s trying to bring it back to that ‘96 – ‘97 time frame

OK Jay-z and Outkast are are Legends.. i say this because they hit you with shit that you might not understand at first but after 3 or 4 listens that shit grow on you.. This is because they coming with something new. and if you listen close people follow. When I fist heard show me what you got i was like ‘THIS IS BULLSHIT” a month later i loved that shit and people went crazy when it came on in the clubs… Same with HEY YA..and outkast… See when it was about competition they ripped it.. when they got so big they separated themselves from the rest.. now its about creativity and the art because they have so much money they can do other things. i was feeling the beat at first….you can hear in the beginning someone say “babu”…i assume its DJ Babu from Dilated Peoples because this beat sounds just like the dilated sound…as far as jay-z’s part goes though….its hot no doubt, but i kind of wonder you know…why’s he trying to bring back the whole crack thing when he personally said hes moved on (a la kingdom come)
