Common Takes The Number 1 Spot On The Billboards

Common is number one on the charts for the first time in his career. “Finding Forever,” has moved 155,000 records in it’s first week on sale. Sean Kingston self titled debut album moves 74,000 records to land the 6th spot on the charts. Overall sales are down nearly ten percent compared to last year.

I’m in the Chi too and although we can be proud of Common Sense, the real victory here is that some quality and timeless music actually won out for a change.

Too add on to what gorillaunit said it’s not only the IPOD factor but the price of gas tends to take away from CD sales too. At least that’s what I gather from talking to music buyers.

yessss go cop that … i bought it on the second day…happy for com he deserves that top spot… but damn sales are at a all time low… wonder how much 50 gonna sell… i bet he will be dissappointed since he expects to sell alot… no one is buying albums these days.
