As soon as I entered the Jive Records conference room to interview Lil Mama she immediately embraced me and put her sunglasses on my face like we were old school buddies. Her warmth and charismatic personality filled the room as she introduced herself. She spoke with a mature articulate voice and reminded me of a grown ass woman. I was amazed that she was only 17 years old but it is obvious that her life experiences go far beyond the average teenage girl. Lil Mama’s New York style explodes when she rhymes and she reps Brooklyn and Harlem. This is not your average teenage female rapper and I have a strong feeling that we will be seeing allot more from her in the near future. I felt the same way when I saw her video. Her swagger is real and congruent…she seems mature and above all, she can spit better than most of the crappy rappers that have their songs on the radio today… I get the feeling that she will have longevity in her career…
