Stop The Madness: 13 Year Old Kills His Brother Over Video Games
A 13-year-old boy fatally stabbed his brother with a steak knife after the 16-year-old refused to turn over a video game controller, authorities said.
Jahmir Ricks was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Antwan Ricks at their home outside Philadelphia. The older boy died of a single stab wound to the chest, police said, and a bent and bloody knife was recovered from the home.
When he said he got next, the kid was not playing. Sad to see a life gone for something so stupid. I agree with him being charged as an adult, the crazy kid needs to be locked up for good.

This 18 year old shot and killed a 14 year old boy because he wasn’t fast enough to get out of the way of his car. Shot a 14 year old kid on a bike over nothing…Trivial things are getting people killed, its ridiculous. We really need to stop the madness.

In 2005 My friend who i wont name, was charged with the murder of his older brother after stabbing him in the chest and peircing his heart.The argument was ver a chain that got stolen and it escalted into a massive fight resuting in the knife being pulled out.
At the time he was 16 he got trialed as a child but still got life and will serve at least 12 years for murder.
As his friend i know that it got out of hand and in a second his brother who he loved was gone. He was allowed to attend the funeral and mourned alongside us all.. R.I.P PINKY

first of all, im assuming the kid didnt mean to kill his brother….especially over a video game…that said…i dont think he should get life, but definitely counseling, a lot of counseling. im a woman, and as a kid, me and my brother [who is older btw], would fight like fully grown men, i would normally get my ass whooped, start crying, and when my bro started apologizin, i would get all up in that ass with my fist and/or weapons if available. our situations never came out like this, but could have.
if the kid didnt stab his bro with the malicious intent of committing murder i dont see what life and prison would prove. it couldve been an accident. im not defending the kid, im just saying. you cant make quick judgements off of a 2 paragraph synopsis on what might have happened.
to me, the justice system should be both forward looking and backward looking. if this was a fight that just went too far, and the kid accidentally fatally stabbed his bro, would life and prison or the death penalty be the correct punishment? backward looking, life in prison or the death penalty would provide some sort of retribution for the dead, but if it was an accident, should the lil bro have to do life or get the chair…ima say no. as fars as forward looking, would the kid getting life or the chair prevent other people from killing over a video game? ima say no, cause this seems like a rare scenario, and if he didnt mean to kill his bro, there ought to be other forms of punishment that can help the kid rather than kill him or lock him up for life.

However what do you mean he didn’t mean to kill him?? Does this kid not know the difference between a deadly weapon and a play toy?? Doesn’t he know using a knife to attack a family member is very wrong?
Whoever the parents were they never instilled the value of life into this kid, they never taught him that it isn’t right to harm your brother with a object, and that he shouldn’t be using weapons against other people at that age.
This kid is clearly a violent lunatic. If you pick up a knife to stab a family member your done, you can kill anyone because violence has no effect on you.
Let me ask you this, when I was a lil kid and I my pops brought out the belt for being bad i got mad, but It never crossed my mind to pick up a knife and stick it in him, even if i was 10 or 12.
Plus I had little brothers and cousins, we fought all the time, my cousins used to fight every single day on some ufc shit, none of them ever picked up a weapon and tried to fight me with it. It was just fists.

How do you accidentally kill someone by plunging a knife in their chest? When he picked up the knife there was the intent already. That is why you have to think about the things you do and the consequences after. This is something that used to be taught in the home. This is a consequence of living in the moment. Now he is facing a long life of regret. For those who think the parents should be punished, they are. They lost 2 sons.
