Rappers Fighting Against Gang Activity?
Various Hip Hop artist including, Snoop, Lil Wayne, Akon, Bone Thugs N Harmony & Ice Cube will be featured on a new compilation CD entitled, “Bangin.. The Big Lie … Pain, Pride, & Destruction(In Stores Sept. 07).” All proceeds from the CD will go the anti-gang organization, Amer-I-Can/ Unity One Foundation For Social Change.
It is great to see rappers helping out an organization trying to make a change in the community. It just seems a bit out of place for Snoop & Lil Wayne to be helping an anti-gang organization when they seem to rep gangs all the time.

Lame… this won’t stop bangin. Like you said RTNY wyane and snoop of all people. Well old heads who bang always try to tell the young ones not to do it because they know the jail and killing that comes with it isnt the best life choice.
But they turn around and still continue to participate in it themselves. Carter 3 come out wayne gonna be screaming blood all over it. Snoop been bangin since I started really gettin into hip hop.

The sad part is hardcore Rap NEEDS gang lifestyle to survive and thrive. If the hood became cleaner over night dudes would come out of the wood work screaming “Yo, how we get so soft, come on blood, if no one wants this money, lets run this town”, that ish would just get more young kids riled up again in the gang lifestyle, and back in their old ways. Its a sick cycle, and to think that the gang way of living will end is like thinking the war in iraq will end peacefully, no chance.
