Chamillionaire Introduces Highly Anticipated Video for “Hip Hop Police”
Platinum, Grammy Award Winning Rapper Chamillionaire is set to debut the highly anticipated video for Hip Hop Police featuring Slick Rick along with a full length video introduction of the controversial new track, titled “Evening News” off his forthcoming sophomore effort, “Ultimate Victory” which will be released on September 18th by Chamillitary/Universal Motown.
The groundbreaking, two-part, nine minute video directed by Mark Klasfeld plays like a short cinematic film, showcasing Chamillionaire’s acting prowess as the hip hop star physically transforms into three different characters, playing hip hop cop Hal Sharpless, news anchor Bob O’Wildy and news reporter, Cashus Burns, in addition to playing himself.
The premiere single produced by JR Rotem isn’t a record about real cops, but rather a clever play by the Houston rapper to address the national scrutiny that hip hop music and artists have received by critics and figures who continue to police hip hop, placing blame on the art form for social issues that the artist feels are deeper rooted. Also seen in the video is a rare cameo appearance by featured artist Slick Rick who switches into his own rival character, Detective Jeffrey Jackson.
With “Hip Hop Police” creating the perfect segue into “Evening News,” a bass heavy, Kane Beatz produced track, Chamillionaire gets into full character in the video as Bob O’Wildy, the opinionated Caucasian news anchor known for vilifying your favorite rapper. As O’Wildy gets into a heated debate with Chamillionaire about different topics, including past and current events, ranging from hip hop, the war, gas prices, Kobe Bryant, Hurricane Katrina and even Kanye West’s comments about President Bush - in the end - only one person wins the debate with public approval.
“I decided to make two separate videos and put them jointly together because the new album itself plays like a motion picture, with one song setting the stage for the next, before coming together at the very end to convey the message of ‘Ultimate Victory,’” says Chamillionaire. “I felt the best way that I could drive my point across is to show the visual of both records back to back.”
The double world premiere of “Hip Hop Police” and “Evening News” will make its video debut this Thursday, July 26th on “BET’s Access Granted” at 8:30pm EST.
With the recent release of the latest installment of Chamillionaire’s famous mixtape series, “Mixtape Messiah 3” along with an hour long DVD for free download off his official website, www.chamillionaire.com, the hip hop star is currently preparing for a 6-week promotional tour. “Ultimate Victory,” which features guest appearances by Lil’ Wayne, Krazyie Bone, Pimp C, Famous and Devin The Dude to name a few, in addition to production by Happy P, The Runners, Play N Skillz, The Beat Bullies and others will be released on September 18th.

Yo…100% in post 7…you are a FUCKING idiot. This album will go platinum. His last album did 5.5 million with ringtones and album sales combined. He won a grammy. He won MTV and BET awards. He doesn’t curse, but still comes harder than you’re favorite rapper. Cham is the truth. Yo Nigel, save these comments so we can laugh at them when the sales start coming in for Ultimate Victory.

Da boy Cham has alot of talent and I’ve been feeling both of the latest installments of da Mixtape Messiah series but Sound Of Revenge wasn’t dat impressive to me. Hopefully dis new LP he comes harder.

nowadays, luck might get you to gold for new mainstream artists. skills and respect or great marketing ploys/ gimmicks can push you to platinum and beyond. mike jones had the marketing gimmick of the year with the “who? mike jones” catch phrase and passing out his phone number. chamillionaire had none of that.
there have only been three # 1 singles [hot 100] that new hip hop artists/groups have had in the last 2 years.
mims — this is why im hot
chamillionaire — ridin dirty
d4l — laffy taffy
im pretty sure mims and d4l have shipped gold, but cham has sold at least 1.5 million. there is a difference. chamillionaire was ALREADY gold before he dropped ‘Ridin Dirty’. That’s not luck, thats skills and respect.
I’m not saying he’s going to push plat each album, but he has the talent and the song writing capabilities to do so, even in todays climate. so please, refrain from comparing him to mike jones. he’s so much better than that.
