Shout out to all the people at MTV that check this site out, but I’m not feeling the list at all. I don’t know how you define, “Hot.” Record sales? Street Buzz? Exposure? I don’t understand how The Game is hotter than 50 Cent & Kanye West, his album didn’t do as well as expected and he doesn’t have a song or video out getting major play(for a while). I’m an Andre 3000 fan, but what singles or videos does he have of his own that’s been popping as of late? I’m not a fan of a, “hot list,” but this would be my top 10:

I just watched the clips online and Jim Jones at number 10 is very suspect. Yes dude had one of the hottest joints of the year with “We Fly High” plus the remix…then he got on some remixes but other than that…nothing. What kept his name out there was the apparent issue he had with Cam…Nas on the other hand, should be 10…I can’t put him ahead of Jay, Jeezy or even 50 for that matter (which hurts but nonetheless lol) but this dude can “disappear” and still be one of the most talked about MCs right now. People want to hear what Nas is going to spit or talk about. Everyone knows that Nas doesn’t do the whole super promotion thing and he respected because of that…

Whats good Real Talk. Now I NEVER leave any comments on blogs, however I do enjoy reading them, plus I am a fan of this site. But I knew this was going to be a topic for discussion and I feel compelled to say something. Now, I think the thing that people don’t understand is that MTV are not trying to judge the greatest MC of all time, they are going by who’s hot RIGHT NOW and with that comes consistency. Now everyone will agree to disagree as to who should be number 1, or number 10 for that matter. And I dont necessarily agree with the lists, as to the ORDER but I think they have it almost on point. Now some folks are saying “well what about eminem, what about dre, papoose, saigon, styles P” or putting folks in the category like Big L, Pun (god rest their souls)….not to take anything away from these dudes…some of the best to EVER do it…but yall are missing the point. Those guys – dre, em, pun…they are indeed hot, but no way are any of them hot right now! One of the things I would change is bringing Game further down and moving kanye up. other than that I think its fair to say that this list is pretty accurate, as to WHO’S HOT RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!! Wow! Ya’ll know the hottest tracks are downloaded, ripped or burned! Survey a “hip hop” fan’s cd player or MP3 player. You can track downloads and sales all you want but you won’t get the real numbers. That’s how we do. Unfortunately the real…the underground (hip hop) can’t be tracked correctly which leads to all this c’RAP music being listed as hot! MTV never represented hip hop the right way from the start. THis list that was made is straight up garbage. Firstly, to be a hot rapper, 3 main things should be token in consideration and that is Lyrics, credility for the rhyms(No Ghost Writers) and Appeal. What is the purpose of being a rapper if you pay for your lyrics, thus my main issue with Wayne being on the list, yes he has Currency and the rest of Young Money on his lyric parole(..cough Gilly the Kid). Plus half of Wayne’s fan do not even listen to what he is actually saying. Come on, my cousins love wayne, but when asked what was tigh about his rhyme, they can’t say shit but sang hooks.Basically the top 5 is:
1:Kanye-Proven to shine through record sales, aight lyrics
2:Jay-Z-Rapping betta than 99.9% of the younger weaker rappers, lyrical genius, Poor selection of songs on KIngdom
Come.
3:Bun B-Honestly the true King of the South, kills whomever track that he is on. Not a lot of Appeal
4:Andre 3000-show that lyrics do matter, killed the Unk “Walk it Out” remix, high appeal but low street cred.
5:Nas-had one of the best albums of the year, made younger rapper what lyrics is all about, step your game up
Note: Currency should have some place on the top ten since he do write for Wayne, Baby, and his himself. He is talented. T.I is in their just becasue he has a higher apeal then LUda, but luda is a better rapper hands down. Yong Joc, I guess since he do make club banger, but has no lyrics.

The list should include Cassidy, Lupe, Common, Jadakis, and the Clipses, at least they have true coo ass lyrics and puchlines. But since they are not in the media like that and singing about Crack(well.. not the Clipses) then the radio is going to constantly be garbage like that 50 cent bullshit or some person trying to dance instead of rap.

3. Outkast- cutting edge innovators of the Rap industry.
4. Project Pat- can get high and take out any rapper in the game today, but is too thugged out to care to do so.
5. Lil’ Wayne- gaining more respect and fan base as each album drops.
6. Nas- the only rapper to go verse for verse on a cameo with the super lyricist Kool G Rap and not look stupid. Also the King of NY.
7. Twista- still living off sucess of Adreneline Rush, and not many rappers quick to challenge his tongue-twisting skills.
8. Eightball & MJG- were sittin on top of the world until Puff Daddy got ahold of them.
9.Eminem- deadly white boy
10. 50- Dr. Dre’s tracks cover up 50’s Dr. Suess rhyming ablity.

Yo Wayne is the hottest dude in the game right now, that is hands down. If he was marketed right he would sell double plat easy.
