Have We Reached A Point Where People Under 18 Need To Be Punished As Adults?
It seems the worst criminals are the ones under 18. They usually are the ones with something to prove and are the most ruthless. After hearing about that inhumane crime in Florida(link), I have to question why are these younger people not getting the same punishment as adults all the time. I don’t have pity for the young, these monsters know what they are doing and know how the law is in there favor. I check CNN and two girls, 10 and 12 try kidnapped a one year old for a $200,000 ransom(Link). How are preteens stealing babies? Real Talk if you commit a murder or rape you deserve death or life in jail no matter your age in my book. Some people will say that these criminals can go on to live productive lives, but I don’t have any pity in my heart. I know some individuals have some horrible childhoods, so I guess I have to make some exceptions for extreme cases. But I feel like if someone shows there are capable of a horrendous crime they will always be a risk to the public. Maybe I’m less forgiving then most, what are your thoughts?

man it’s getting out of hand
somebody last started a house fire at my friends house and killled his mother,two sisters, and his 8 yr old brother.
the guy got caught and he’s like 18 or 19 it’s just messed up because this was a gang problem that had a history in jail. One teenager did this too. One teenager who’s pretty much an adult just killed 4 innocent ppl. Well accaly 5…beacase he killed my friends gf in the fire too.
And just hearing what happened with that boy and his mother it’s more than sickning it’s straight u evil. They knew exactly what they were doing when something like that happens they d’t even deserve a chance too be questioned why they did it. Because they did it and there is nooo excuse or reasonfor that. It’s making are community looking really bad. Just hearing the guy’s black too..black or not the guy is human he pulled this stunt.

Children (of all races) who participate in violent and vicious crimes should be tried as adults and their parents or parent should be charged as an accessory. Children who commit violent crimes can never be rehabilitated. Violence is all they know and they will be repeat offenders.
Throw their asses in jail and then throw away the key. They have no use in our society.

I believe ABSOULTLY YES for violent offenders because I don’t believe they (all violent offenders) can’t be rehabilitated completely!!!! Violence becomes their only problem solving mechanism from there on. I have been told that once you kill the first time, it gets easier and easier from there whether you get caught or not, even if it was in self defence!!!
If it becomes a well known national, hell international law, maybe these parents will start paying more attention to their kids, and start raising their children better to prevent them from committing these crimes in the first place.
I wish there were some way to see if people will make good parents BEFORE they do cuz there are some FUCKED people with fucked up backgrounds and beliefs out there raising, or NOT raising the youth of the world. I hold them 90% responsible for these reckless children.

i think the real issue is not what the punishment should be but why are these kids committed these crimes in the first place not to justify a child killing or raping someone but many of these kids are part of poor or unstable homes or they live their lives watching crimes being committed in front of their eyes and kids like that are not being helped or even paid attention to unti they act out and do things they shouldnt be doing

Everything starts from homebase. If these kids don’t have the discipline bestowed upon them through childhood, they are doomed. The parents should be accountable for the actions of their child’s behavior. Maybe if THEY were penalized and slightly suffered the flak of their child’s actions (during the child’s conviction/punishement), they would WAKE UP and start setting a proper example for their kin, in the fear of them reaping the consequences, as well. If a child doesn’t feel love and encumberance from his/her parent, he isn’t going to give a damn about life either. It’s like a chain reaction…
